Struggle

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly． One day a small opening appeared；he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole． Then it seemed to stop making any progress． It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther．

Then the man decided to help the butterfly，so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon． The butterfly then emerged easily． But it had a swollen body and small，shriveled wings．

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that，at any moment，the wings would en- large and expand to be able to support the body，which would contractin time．

Neither happened! In fact，the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings． It never was able to fly．

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into is wings，so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If nature allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles，it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been．

And we could never fly……

一個(gè)人看到一個(gè)蝴蝶繭。一天，繭上面出現(xiàn)了一個(gè)小孔。繭里面的蝴蝶拼命想要從那個(gè)小孔里掙扎出來(lái)，那個(gè)人坐在那兒，一直觀察了好幾個(gè)小時(shí)。然而，蝴蝶似乎放棄了努力，好像它已經(jīng)竭盡全力了，不可能再有所作為了。

那個(gè)人決定幫一下蝴蝶，于是，他用剪刀剪開(kāi)了蝶繭。蝴蝶很輕松地鉆了出來(lái)。但是它身體臃腫，翅膀軟弱無(wú)力。

那個(gè)人繼續(xù)觀察那只蝴蝶。他希望蝴蝶的翅膀隨時(shí)能堅(jiān)硬起來(lái)，堅(jiān)硬到足以支撐身體，而它臃腫的身體遲早會(huì)變小。

但是，蝴蝶的身體沒(méi)有變小，它的翅膀也沒(méi)有變硬!事實(shí)上，那只蝴蝶是拖著臃腫的身軀和萎縮的翅膀靠在地上爬行度過(guò)余生的。它永遠(yuǎn)也不會(huì)在天上飛翔。

那位善良而急性的人不懂，蝴蝶需要繭的桎梏，通過(guò)必須的掙扎爬出小孔。它的體液可以自然而然地被排擠到翅膀當(dāng)中。這樣，在掙脫了繭的束縛，獲得自由后，蝴蝶就能夠展翅飛翔了。

有時(shí)候奮斗才是我們生活所必需的。如果一帆風(fēng)順地度過(guò)一生，大自然就會(huì)使我們變成殘廢，也就無(wú)法擁有我們可能擁有的強(qiáng)壯。

而且我們永遠(yuǎn)都無(wú)法展翅高飛……
