摘 要:當前的移動通信網絡,通常由操作維護中心(OMC)、基站控制器(BSC)、基站(BS)和終端用戶(UE)四級網元組成。BSC和BS通常稱為基站子系統(BSS)。OMC通常由大型的工作站組成,是無線網絡的管理核心,它對BSC 進行直接的控制和管理。當BSC或BS添加一些新的功能或軟硬件升級時,首先要做的是評估新增加的功能對OMC 造成的影響。這些影響包括對CPU利用率、存儲器(memory) 利用率和數據庫(database)利用率的影響。在實際測試數據的基礎上,提出了OMC CPU利用率的估算方法。利用所提出的估算方法,可以方便地估算其他網元新增加的功能對OMC CPU所造成的影響。

Method of Estimating OMC CPU Utilization Factor

Abstract:The mobile communication network is usually composed of four kinds of network elements: operation management center (OMC), base station controller (BSC), base station (BS) and user equipment (UE). BSC and BS are called base station subsystem (BSS). OMC is usually composed of large workstation. It is the center of wireless network management, and takes charge of direct control and management to BSC. While BSC or BS needs additional functions or software/hardware upgrading,the evaluation of the impact of new functions and upgrading on OMC should be carried out. It includes the effects on the utility factors of CPU, memory and database. The method to estimate OMC CPU utility factor is introduced on the basis of the measured data. The impact of the newly added functions of the other network elements on OMC CPU can be estimated easily with this estimating method.

0 引 言
在當前的移動通信網絡,由OMC,BSC和BS三級節點組成[1-2]。OMC通常是大型的工作站,由Sunfire 4800/4900 等組成[3]。BSC和BS通常是設備制造商所開發的各種處理設備。OMC 通常管理著它所連接的各個BSC上報的信息,包括設備告警信息(alarm)、設備狀態信息(stats)、參數配置信息(CM)和備份的各種數據庫(database)等。 利用這些信息,網絡管理人員可以對整個無線網絡進行維護和管理。 隨著人們對業務需求的不斷變化,網絡通常每隔一段時間就要進行功能(feature)添加。當各個節點添加新的功能時,它們向OMC上報的信息就會增加,這樣就會使OMC CPU 的處理負荷加重。因此,在增加新的功能時,首先要評估對OMC的 CPU、存儲器、數據庫和X.25接口鏈路容量和各類數據庫造成的影響。其中,對CPU造成的影響最為重要,因為它直接影響著系統運行的效率。……
