此電影改編自英國女作家蘇菲·金索拉(Sophie Kinsella)筆下的同名小說，是全球熱銷兩百萬冊的“購物狂系列小說”的第一本。

自14歲起就夢想進入一流時裝雜志的麗貝卡寫了一篇關于女性購鞋的文章準備毛遂自薦，卻陰差陽錯地被財經雜志主編盧克誤讀為角度新穎的理財文章。
