Ｇｒｅｅｎ Ｐｒｏｊｅｃｔ ｉｎ Ａｕｔｏ Ｉｎｄｕｓｔｒｙ

Automobile industry in China is developing very fast， which brings great business opportunities. In 2006，China was ranked the third in the world only after the United States and Japan in terms of auto sales.As the vehicle population in China is rocketing， a series of related social problems are emerging. Howto fast develop auto industry， and at the same time， protect our living environment? A green project is in urgentneed.

To raise more attention from the public and government on this issue， 2007 Interna-tional Forum on Chinese Automotive Industry Development (2007 IFCAID) was held onSeptember 7， 2007 in Tianjin Binhai New Area. Thanks to the orgazination of China Au-tomotive Technology Research Center (CATARC)， Society of Automotive Engineersof China (SAE-China)， China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM)， ChinaAutomotive News and Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA)， the4-dayForum turned out a great success and attracted thousands of visitors from homeand overseas.

The Forum was mainly divided into three different parts. 2007 International Forumeld in Renaissance Tian Jin Teda Hotel for one and an half days. With \"EnvironmentalProtection， Energy-Efficiency and Green Manufacturing\" as its theme， the Forum dis-cussed the current hot topics in 6 series: topic lecture， the social responsibility of autoenterprises and industry， the supporting and guiding from China's micro politics， energy-saving and green-manufacturing， new resources and clean energy fuels， and sustainabledevelopment of auto industry.

Mr. Zhao Hang， Presidem of CATARC， delivered a welcome speech on the openingceremony. During the short period of the Forum， 70 professional experts， 30 governmentofficers and 300 auto enterprises directors presented. This forum supplied a good stagefor each side to communicate with others and exchange ideas.

The second part of the Forum is SAE-China annual convention. It was the first timeof the two important conferences being held at the same time. If we call the 2007 IFCAIDa stage for social sustainable development， the SAE-China annual convention is a profes-sional platform for the scientific research of auto industry. Over 300 theses were collected for the convention onthe guidance theme: technical progress and harmonious society.

And the most attractive part was the automobile exhibition in Tianjin International Exhibition Center. Theexhibition area of the 2007 expo approached to 20 thousand square meters and over 140 enterprises were in-volved， 11 auto enterprises of which even brought their newly-launched automotive type. Every exhibitor showedtheir great interest and excitement to the auto expo.

IFCAID is scheduled to be held in September every year. It was successfully held in 2005 and 2006 and hasnow been broadly accepted as the most authoritative and expected event in the Chinese auto sectors. We see it'sgrowing and we believe the green project it advocated will contribute more in future.
