Ｌｏｖｅ Ｙｏｕｒ Ｌｉｆｅ（ｓｅｌｅｃｔｅｄ）

However mean（窘困） your life is， meet it and live it; do not shun（逃避） it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder（挑剔者） will find faults in paradise（天堂）. Love your life， poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant， thrilling（興奮的）， glorious hours， even in a poor house. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house（貧民救濟所） as brightly as from the rich man’s abode（府第）; the snow melts before its door as early in the spring. I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly（安心地，滿意地） there， and have as cheering thoughts， as in a palace...Cultivate poverty like a garden herb（草）， like sage（圣賢）.

熱愛生活（節選）

無論生活多窘困，都要面對它，經歷它，而不要逃避它，咒罵它。它不像你想的那樣壞。在你最富時，生活倒看似最窮。挑剔者即使在天堂也會挑剔。生活雖窮，但也要熱愛它。即使你棲身陋室，或許也會有愉悅、興奮而美好的時光。陋室幽窗反射的夕陽，就如豪宅窗上的一樣明亮；早春既至，陋室門前的雪也同樣消融。唯有心態寧靜者方能樂在其中，妙意融融，宛如身居宮闕……像圣者一樣將貧窮視為園中香草而培植吧。
