Wuxi Anyuan AutomobileCo.Ltd，located in Wuxi，China's Jiangsu Province，receives investment from Wuxi Any-uan Industru Joint Stock CO，Ltd asan R D(research and development)center and as a production base for theexport of luxurious passenger buses．The company's facilities cover a largearea of 90，000 square meters．Duringthe first phase of constmction，factorybuildings with a floor area of 15，000square meters were erected，enablingan annual production capacity of 1，500buses．worth of RMB 0:5 billion．Dur-ing the second phase，another 20，000sauare meters were allocated for use asfactory buildings，which brought thecompany's annual production capacityt0 5，000 buses，worth of RMB 1.5 bil-lion．Among the company's 1，200 em-ployees，196 are working as technicalor managerial personnel．

As a leading commpany in thedomestic passenger bus manu-facturing industry，Anyuan Au-tomobile is one of the first com-panies to have been grantedthe ISO 9001 Quality systemCertificate，China's National3C certificate，the US DOTcertificate and the AustraliaADR certificate．AnyuanAutomobile's buses are popu-lar in over 20 provinces andautonomous regions in China，induding shanghai，Jiangxi，Hunanand Cuangdong，and they are beginningto become popular in several overseasmarkets．So far Anyuan Automobilehas exported buses to the US，Australia，Jordan，heland，New zealand，Malaysia，Philippines，Vietnam，the Mid-East andAfrica．

How can a domestic company likeAnyuan Automobile find opponunitiesto explore new markets in developedcountries?Responding to this questionby our reponer，su Liqian，GM of Any-uan Automobile，shared his insights andvisions with China's Foreign Trade.

\"The first thing I would like to pointout is that at present，tbere are very fewChinese buses in beiing used in devel-oped countries，which is a gap in themarket that we are confident we will fill．Bus manufacturing is a labor-incensiveindustry， and many auto parts are not yetavailable on the international automo-bile parts purchase platform．Therefore，developed countries need to find autoparts suppliers in countries with lowerlabor costs．such as China，to meet theirtechnical specifications．In this capacityI think，Chinese firms like ours can playimportant roles in the markets of devel-oped countries.\"

\"In recen vcars，China has becomethe largest passenger bus consumer in theworld．And we are capable of improvingbus manufacturing technology and prod-uct quality to keep in line with interna-tional standards.Ourcompany makesparts for bus bod-ies and developsmanufacturingtechnoloygies，while at the sametime managingto keep our prod-uct price andlabor costs low.Our hardworkover the last twoyear won us USDOT certification．

We are the only Chi-nese enterprise to have achieved this. \"We will explore further and closercooperation with our Australian andAmerican partners．Customers in thesecountries are far more demanding thandomestic customers．Their demandsare the bridle and spur that make agood horse．Thrdnks to their dernandingrequirenlents，our product quality hasbecome more competitive in overseasmarkets．We are confident that we willbe able to occupy more market shares indeveloped countries．Our brand is strongenough to compete anywhere on theglobe.\"Su said confidently．

\"Our cornpany's sales volume andrevenue ranks the third in Australia aspitted against every other passenger buscompany in the Australian market\"Sutold us，\"We have great panners in theUS．We have a guccessful paradigm forcooperation that makes full use of an in-tegrated resource-advantagc matrix thattakres into account network services，saleschannels，technical platfoms and qualitymanagement.We plan to sell 1，000 busesa ycar in the US in threee years'time．

\"Recently，we successfully held abus exhibition in the US，which indicatesthat US cuscomers have accepted our busas a competitive brand．Currently，we areimplementing a strategy of increasingour presence in the markets of developedcountries，after which we will begin ex-tending our business to developing coun-tries.\"

According to Mr.Su，China's busmarket resembles that of Russia．In retler-ence to this，he says，\"Russia is a countrywith a very strong demand for passengerbuses．However. based on my experienceand knowledge of the Russian market，Ithink that so far low-end products haveaccounted for majority of the total de-mand for passenger buses.\"

\"We've found a satisfying panner inthe European market that can provide uswith its existing service systems and salesnetworks．What's more，they are auitefamiliar with the European market.\"
