Sanctioned by the State Councilin 1993，Chongqing Economic Technological DevelopmentZone (CETZ) is one of the earliestnational ecoonomic technologicaldevelopment zones in China．By the endof 2006，CETZ had attracted investorsfrom 22 countries and set up over 447foreign funded companies with thetotal investment of US$3.525 billion，the contract foreign fund reachedUS$1.15 billion．the actual executed fundamounted to US$1.129 billion．22 ofWould Top 500 have settled in CETZ，such as US Ford，Germany's METRO，Swedish Ericsson，Japan's Honda，Italy's Fiat，etc．There are 65 projects withthe investment of over US$10 million．All the main economic indices havebeen keeping a grown rate of over 10%．In 2006．CETZ realized total revenueRMB49.618 billion，increasing by55.73% vear-on-year，regional productionvalue RMB11.104 billion，increasingby 51.93%，industrial production valueRMB36.071 billion，increasing by67.05%;tax revenue RMB3.859 billion，increasing by 70.58%;total import export value US$1.122 billion，amongwhich export was US$176 million，increasingby 54.62% and 40.48% respectively．With theexcellent investment environment and goodservices．CETZ is attracting the domestic andoverseas investors coming here．

CETZ is divided into the South Zoneand North Zone(New North Zone)，they aresituated at Nan Ping，Nan'an District，andCuiyun Street and Yuanyang street，Li Jia County，Yubei District respectively．

The south zone occupies 9.6 sq．kilometers，facing the Yangtze River in the west，connecting Egongyan Bridge and Cheng-Yu Highway，with Nanshan Scenic spot andYu-Qian Highway connecting the Great Southwest Sea Outlet in the east，ChongqingYangtze River Bridge and the center city in the north．It is 3 kilometers from ChongqingRailway Station，5 kilometers from Chongqing Passengers Transportation Port，28kilometers from Chongqing Airport．CFTZ has formed the Information IndustryIndustrial Zone，Dangui Industrial Zone，Huilong Industrial Zone，ComprehensiveTrade Zone，as well as South Lake and Luoguangwang Living Zone．
