原因狀語(yǔ)面面觀

在考試中，我們會(huì)經(jīng)常遇到與原因狀語(yǔ)有關(guān)的試題；在日?？谡Z(yǔ)和書(shū)面語(yǔ)中，我們會(huì)經(jīng)常運(yùn)用一些表示原因的句子，以使我們的語(yǔ)言更具有邏輯性、直觀性。那么，表達(dá)原因的句子到底有哪些呢？

1由as，because，since，when，seeing that，considering that，now that，in that，not that．．．but that 等引導(dǎo)的原因狀語(yǔ)從句。如：

I’m late because my mother has been ill.

我晚了是因?yàn)槲夷赣H病了。

Since you know that，I don’t have to say it.

既然你知道了，那我就不必說(shuō)了。

Seeing that quite a few comrades were absent，we decided to put the meeting off.

由于好些同志都沒(méi)到會(huì)，我們決定延期開(kāi)會(huì)。

Not that she forgot to do her homework ， but that she was busy nursing a sick classmate.

不是因?yàn)樗涀鲎鳂I(yè)而是她忙著照顧一個(gè)生病的同學(xué)。

2有些介詞及介詞短語(yǔ)也可用來(lái)表示原因。如at，by，in，for，of，on，over，through， with，without，because of，on account of，out of等。

The whole nation was in deep sorrow at the news .

聽(tīng)到這個(gè)消息，整個(gè)國(guó)家都沉浸在悲痛之中。

His face was red with anger.

他的臉因生氣而變紅了。

On account of his youth，he was not allowed to join the army.

由于年齡太小，人家不允許他參軍。

3用不定式表示原因。如：

We were excited to hear of your success.

聽(tīng)到你的成功，我們都很激動(dòng)。

He laughed to see that fun.

因看到那樣的趣事，他大聲笑了起來(lái)。

This place is difficult to find in the map.

這個(gè)地方在地圖上很難找到。

4．現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)有時(shí)可用作狀語(yǔ)表示原因，相當(dāng)于一個(gè)表示原因的狀語(yǔ)從句。如：

Knowing English very well，he translated the article without much difficulty.

由于英語(yǔ)功底好，他沒(méi)費(fèi)多大力氣就把這篇文章翻譯了出來(lái)。

Not having received an answer，he decided to write another letter to her.

由于沒(méi)有收到來(lái)信，他決定再給她寫一封信。

5．過(guò)去分詞短語(yǔ)有時(shí)也可用作狀語(yǔ)表示原因，相當(dāng)于一個(gè)表示原因的狀語(yǔ)從句。如：

Born into a poor family，Lincoln had only one year of schooling.

由于出生在貧苦家庭，林肯只上了一年的學(xué)。

6．獨(dú)立主格結(jié)構(gòu)也可表示原因。如：

It being rainy yesterday，we didn’t go to school.

昨天下雨了，我們沒(méi)有去上學(xué)。

The keys，having been，lost，she couldn’t enter the room.

鑰匙丟了，她進(jìn)不去房子。

There being no bus，we had to walk home .

由于沒(méi)有公共汽車，我們只好步行回家。

7．形容詞短語(yǔ)也可表示原因。如：

Afraid of being caught，the thief hid himself at home all day long .

由于害怕被抓住，這個(gè)小偷成天藏在家里。

Helpless and hopeless，he committed suicide.

由于無(wú)奈和絕望，他自殺了。

8．名詞短語(yǔ)也可表示原因。如：

Weather of coldness，we all put on coats.

天很冷，我們都穿上了大衣。

9. with 結(jié)構(gòu)也可以表示原因。 如：

With hair gone ， there could be no use for comb.

由于沒(méi)有頭發(fā)了，梳子又有什么用呢。
