1.Listen to the radio or podcasts in English.This is one of the best ways to improve yourEnglish. You should then try to listen to podcastsor radio shows for at least 30 minutes per day.Try to understand what’s being said， don’t justlisten to it. Even if it is too fast， try to listen forkeywords and phrases to get an idea of what the 1）conversation isabout. If you can， make a note of any words or phrases that you don’tunderstand and look up the 2）translation 3）afterwards. Then listen tothe podcast or show again.

2.Watch movies and TV shows in English. Another fun way toimprove your English is to watch moviesand TV shows in English. Try to pickmovies or TV shows that you will enjoy— this will make it more fun， which willhelp you actually learn English.

3.Read a book， newspaper ormagazine in English. Reading is agreat way to improve your English. Findsomething you like — whether that’s afamous English novel， newspaper or afashion magazine and read it. Again， try toactually understand what you’re reading，don’t just read it. Highlight any words orphrases that you don’t know， and thenlook them up in the dictionary. If you’re allalone， you could also try reading out loud.

4.Keep a diary in English. Aside fromlistening and reading in English， youshould also spend some time improving your? written English skills.This may be one of the most hardparts of learning English， but it is stillimportant. Writing in English will helpyou to work on your sentence structure，grammar and spelling. Try keeping an English diary where youwrite down a few sentences every day. It doesn’t have to bepersonal — you could write about the weather， what you ate fordinner or what your plans are for the day. If you feel comfortablewith it， get a native speaker to read what you’ve written and checkit for any mistakes. This will help you to avoid making the samemistakes over and over again.

5. Find a native English speakerand make him/her your pen pal. Onceyour written English has improved，you could consider getting an Englishspeakingpen pal！ Your pen pal couldbe someone who is learning Englishlike you， or may be a native Englishspeaker who wants to practice foreignlanguage skills by writing to you inyour native language. Having a penpal from an English-speaking countrywill also let you learn more about theculture and what life is like there.
