Aims &Scope

Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering(JRMGE) is concerned with the latest research achievements in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering.It provides an opportunity for colleagues from all over the world to understand the current developments in the fields of rock mechanics,geomechanics and geomaterials,geoenergy,petroleum engineering,engineering geology,mining engineering,hydraulic engineering,petroleum engineering,and soil mechanics.The topics covered include new theories,technologies and methods,in situ and laboratory tests,fi eld application and case studies,and timely reviews on selected subjects in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering.

Submission of Papers

Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing,publication and post-publication.Ensure that the telephone number (including country and area codes) is provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.Please always provide offi cial e-mails for communication.

Original material: Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis),that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere,that its publication is approved by all authors and that,if accepted,it will not be published elsewhere in the same form,in English or any other language,without the written consent of the publisher.If excerpts from other copyrighted works are included,the author(s) must obtain written permission in both print and electronic formats from the copyright owners and the original author(s) and source should be appropriately credited.

Length of papers: (1) Full length article should be full-length studies that present important breakthroughs.Articles are limited to 12,000 words,with up to 20 figures and 6 tables,and 80 references;(2) Review should describe and synthesize recent signifi cant developments in a single field,or across multidisciplinary fields,and highlight future directions.Reviews are limited to 15,000 words,up to 30 figures and 7 tables,and no more than 150 references;(3) Technical note should be brief scientifi c report of a preliminary nature.They are limited to 8000 words,up to 15 figures and 6 tables,and no more than 50 references.If the length has exceeded the limit,other materials are suggested to be included in Appendix.

Requirements on figures: (1) File type: TIFF,PNG,DOC/DOCX,GIF and JPG;(2) Image resolution: A minimum of 300 dpi;(3) Figure size: the figures should be 80 mm (for double-column text areas) or 170 mm (for single-column text areas) wide;(4) Figure lettering: Use the same font type and size in all figures throughput the text (usually 8 pt).Only use the following fonts in your illustrations: Times New Roman or Arial;(5) Line: All lines should be at least 0.5 pt in thickness;(6) All figures should be inserted into the main text close to their first citation and must be numbered following their number of appearance.

Requirements on tables: (1) Tables should supplement,not duplicate,the text;(2) For each table,please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table;(3) Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption;(4) Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for signifi cance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body;(5) All tables should be inserted into the main text close to their first citation and must be numbered following their number of appearance.

Peer Review

All submissions will be reviewed by referees selected by the editorial board.The decision of acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the editorial board based on the referees’ comments.The review process may take 60 to 90 days,and the editorial offi ce will inform the author(s) of the decision when the review process is completed.When a manuscript is returned for revision prior to final acceptance,the revised manuscript should be submitted within four weeks.Papers essential of an advertising nature will not be accepted.The editor reserves the right to return,prior to refereeing,any manuscripts which do not conform to the Guide for authors,as well as papers which do not fit the scope of the journal.

Publication Fees

This journal is a peer reviewed,subsidized Open Access journal where Chinese Academy of Sciences pays the Open Access fee.Authors do not have to pay any article processing charge(NO APC).

All paper published in JRMGE areOpenAccess articles under the CC BY-NC-ND license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/).All articles will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read,download,copy and distribute.

Author rights
