At 13:43 on June 8, Mr. Lan Tianye, honorary president of Viewing Stone Association of China, died at his home in Beijing at the age of 95.

Lan Tianye, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, "July 1st Medal" winner,performing and directing artist of Beijing People's Art Theater, and honorary president of Viewing Stone Association of China.

Mr. Lan Tianye was very concerned about and supported the cause of stone appreciation when he was alive. Since the establishment of Viewing Stone Association of China in 2005, he has attended the general assembly of the Viewing Stone Association of China for three times, and participated in the cultural activities of stone appreciation hosted by the Viewing Stone Association of China many times. In 2016, he was awarded the honorary title of"national outstanding devotee of stone appreciation"by Viewing Stone Association of China.

Mr. Lan thinks: "Vieiwng stones have added endless fun to my later life. I don't deliberately pursue viewing stone statues. I prefer to enjoy the beauty and aesthetic charm brought by stones. I think that appreciating stones condenses the spirit of heaven and earth, but I don't regard them as high-ranking works of art, but as reliable friends.Whether it is shelved or not At the bedside, on the table, or changed into practical objects, all bear a kind of fate with me. "
