Letters of congratulation for the Communist Party of China centennial

The year 2021 marks the centennial of the Communist Party of China （CPC）. Many friendship organizations and friends from various countries sent letters of congratulation to the CPC and the Chinese people. Some of the letters are published here.

Simon Pang， president of the US Sino Friendship Association sent a letter of congratulations for the CPC centennial on June 29， 2021.

Melinikov Ivan Ivannovich， president of Russia-China Friendship Association， sent a letter of congratulations for the CPC centennial on June 29， 2021.

On June 28， Melinikov Ivan Ivannovich， first deputy chairman of the State Duma of Russia and president of the RCFA， sent a letter to Lin Songtian， president of the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries， and Chen Yuan， president of China-Russia Friendship Association， warmly congratulating them on the centennial of the Communist Party of China.

Melinikov noted in his letter that the CPC was founded in 1921 under the influence of the October Revolution and amid surging movements against feudalism and imperialism. The Party had only 50 members when its first national congress was held. It has more than 95 million members now and has become the largest political party in the world. It has led China from victory to victory.

Melinikov noted that the CPC led the Chinese to win the revolution and founded the Peoples Republic of China on Oct 1， 1949. The CPC rebuilt the country after the war， laid an industrial foundation and constructed a comprehensive economic system. The CPC has found socialism with Chinese characteristics to be Chinas own way of development and under the leadership of the CPC the country has made huge progress.

Melinikov said Russia-China relations have made continuous headway. On June 28， 2021， Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a historical meeting via video link. Both leaders spoke highly of the Russia-China Treaty of GoodNeighborliness and Friendly Cooperation signed 20 years ago. Setting fundamental principles， the Treaty has provided a solid legal base for the longterm and stable development of RussiaChina comprehensive strategic partnership. The treaty says that the two nations will be friends from generation to generation and will never be enemies. It also calls on the two peoples to be good neighbors， friends and partners and for future generations to carry on that friendship. Led by leaders of both countries， and under those guiding principles， we will progress together， he said.

Melinikov said that in the joint declaration on the 20th anniversary of the signing of the treaty， both sides stressed the importance of people-topeople exchanges. People-to-people exchanges， political trust and trade and economic cooperation are the three pillars supporting bilateral relations. The joint declaration also called on friendship associations to play a more active role in building stronger public support for bilateral ties.

Melinikov said that to celebrate the centennial of the CPC， with the support of the RCFA， a photo exhibition was held at the State Duma of Russia on June 28， titled “New partnership： Russia and China in the 21 century”. The RCFA will continue to build public support for Russia-China friendship， increase connectivity between the two peoples， promote the development of the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era and benefit the people of the two countries. He wished the CPC and Chinese people greater success in the future.

Takeo Kawamura， president of Japan-China Cultural Exchange Promotion Association， a member of the House of Representatives of Japan and chief cabinet secretary， sent a congratulatory letter on the centennial of the CPC.

In his letter， Kawamura congratulated the CPC and noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed peoples daily lives and raised various obstacles. He hoped the pandemic would come to an end as soon as possible and that people-to-people exchanges between Japan and China would continue to grow and become better than ever.

President Uichiro Niwa of the JapanChina Friendship Association， a public welfare organization， wrote an article congratulating the CPC on its centennial in the July 2021 issue of Japan and China Friendship Newspaper， an official publication of the JCFA.

In the article， Niwa reviewed Chinas history since the Opium War of 1840， how China overthrew the corrupt Qing Dynasty and the dictatorship of warlords， how it fought the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation， and how it founded the Peoples Republic of China. He commended the CPC for its remarkable achievements in overcoming numerous difficulties and obstacles， blazing a path of reform and opening-up， building a socialist country and leading China to become the worlds second-largest economy and a major force among nations.

Niwa noted that China is building cooperative relations with other countries in the process of development. Since the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in 1972， the two countries have always adhered to peaceful development， which is commendable， he said. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-China relations. Niwa expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to make progress.

Niwa noted that the JCFA was founded in 1950， the year after the birth of the PRC. Over the past 70 years， he said， the association has been commit- ted to promoting peace and exchanges between the two countries. He said his organization is willing to work with the two peoples to continue advancing the great cause of peace.

Khammany Inthirath， president of the Laos-China Friendship Association sent congratulatory letters to Gu Xiulian， president of the China-ASEAN Friendship Association， and Wu Tao， president of the China-Laos Friendship Association， for the CPC centennial.

In his letter， Inthirath said that dur- ing the past 100 years， the CPC led the Chinese people to build socialism with Chinese characteristics， realized longterm political stability， kept the economy growing at a fast speed， steadily improved peoples lives and made remarkable achievements in reform and opening-up and more. Chinas victory in fighting poverty is a great miracle in the worlds poverty alleviation efforts.The LCFA congratulates China on this victory and firmly believes that the CPC will lead the Chinese people to achieve all goals on the way to national rejuvenation.

Inthirath said that this year is the Year of Friendship between the two countries — the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Laos and China and the 45th anniversary of the LCFA. The LCFA has had the honor to witness the continuous development of traditional friendship between the two countries and is willing to work closely with China with mutual support to make new progress in developing the China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a community with a shared future for the two countries， bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries and making positive contributions to preserving regional and world peace， stability and development.

The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and DPRK-China Friendship Association sent a letter of congratulations for the CPC centennial.

In their letters， the two organizations said that July 1， 1921， is a date to be marked in history as the day on which the Chinese people made an epoch-making stride into a new era. Under the leadership of the CPC， the Chinese people won the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation and established the Peoples Republic of China. In building socialism with Chinese characteristics， the Chinese people have made great achievements. Chinas comprehensive power and international position are unprecedented.

The DPRK side said that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core， China has made tremendous transformations. The people of the DPRK share the delight of the Chinese people in those achievements. They sincerely wish the Chinese people will rally closely around the Party， achieve new glory in realizing national rejuvenation and build a modern socialist country.

The DPRK organizations said he people of the DPRK are rallying closely around Comrade Kim Jong-un， general secretary of the Korean Workers Party， putting the guiding principles agreed by the Eighth National Congress of the Korean Workers Party into practice and making unremitting efforts to build a socialist economy and improve peoples lives.

The Koreans said that， under the lofty will of the leaders of the two parties， the two organizations will continue to work with the ChinaDPRK Friendship Association to make positive contributions to friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Nguyen Phuong Nga， president of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations， and Nguyen Van Tho， president of the Vietnam China Friendship Association， sent a letter to the CPAFFC and the China-Vietnam Friendship Association On June 30.

The Vietnamese letter said that in the past 100 years， the CPC has led the Chinese to conquer all difficulties and challenges， made historical achievements and brought China into a new era with a bright future. China gained a victory over poverty and realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Chinas achievements and miracles have provided the region and the world with development opportunities.

The Vietnamese side hopes the Chinese people， under the leadership of the CPC with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core， will make new progress and develop China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous， strong， democratic， culturally advanced， harmonious and beautiful.

With further development of relations between the two countries and the two governing parties， mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples will be strengthened. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam China Friendship Association will work with the CPAFFC and the China-Vietnam Friendship Association to host more people-to-people exchange programs to consolidate traditional friendship， increase mutual trust and make positive contributions to regional peace， stability and development.

Jose F. Correia， president of the Cabo Verde-China Friendship Association， sent a letter of congratulations to Lin Songtian， president of the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries on the CPC centennial.

Correia said in the letter that in the past century， under the leadership of the CPC， the Chinese people have achieved national independence and economic prosperity， and they are enjoying a better life. China has found its own way of development and become a major power in the international community. We firmly believe， he said， that under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping， the CPC will begin a new phase of glory for the next 100 years.

Correia noted that China is a strategic partner of Cabo Verde and that bilateral ties have entered a new era. The Belt and Road Initiative and a China-Africa community with a shared future initiated by President Xi Jinping， and other important mechanisms， will serve to consolidate and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between China and Cabo Verde， as well as between China and Africa.

Ek Sam Ol， president of the Cambodia-China Friendship Association， sent two congratulatory letters， one to Gu Xiulian， president of the China-ASEAN Association， and another to Lin Songtian， president of the CPAFFC， warmly recognizing the CPC centennial on June 28.

In his letters， Ek Sam Ol said that under the brilliant leadership of President Xi Jinping， China has made great achievements in economic development that have not only lifted the Chinese people out of poverty but also made great contributions to the cause of poverty reduction for all mankind. He believes that in an increasingly uncertain global environment， Chinas continuous development and growth will make a major contribution to re-gional and world peace and prosperity.

Ek Sam Ol noted that over the years， the CCFA， the CPAFFC and the China-ASEAN Association have carried out fruitful cooperation in various aspects， strengthened the friendship between the two peoples， pushed the special bond of Cambodia-China as“iron friends” closer and led to a more dynamic future. The Cambodian side would like to work with China to further promote the steady development of friendly bilateral cooperation， he said.

Professor Phua Kok Khoo， president of the Singapore-China Friendship Association， sent a congratulatory letter on the centennial of the CPC on July 2.

Phua Kok Khoo said that over the past 100 years， which have seen rapid and dramatic changes in global patterns， the CPC has led the Chinese people out of difficulties， achieved peace and prosperity and made remarkable achievements in developing and improving peoples livelihoods. It is admirable that China has made many friends on the world stage and contributed to the realization of world peace and prosperity for mankind.

Phua Kok Khoo said that the SCFA is willing to maintain close contact and cooperation with the CPAFFC and devote its strength to promoting friendship and win-win cooperation between the two peoples.

R. Jinith De Silva， president of the Sri Lanka China Society， sent a con- gratulatory letter on the centennial of the CPC.

It is with great honor and pleasure to send best wishes from the People of Thailand to you and the People of China， on the Centennial Anniversary of the establishment of The Communist Party of China （CPC）.

Since July 1， 1921， the CPC has been， and still is， the most important vehicle， that leads the people of China， to the above-poverty line living standard that they all are enjoying from today. Since my first visit to China in 1975， I have personally experienced the amazing transformations， taking place all around The Peoples Republic of China， which has resulted from the Poverty Eradication Policy of the CPC. Presently， the CPC is globally praised of this success.

The Thai Chinese Friendship Association， representing the People of Thailand， wish to congratulate the People of China for having such an efficient CPC that has led your lives out of poverty. This amazing success is also being studied by all developing countries around the world.

CPC， you have set the best exam- ple and standard for your people， and all of us in every corner of the world have much to learn from you.
