吳孟超：中國肝膽外科之父

2021年5月22日，被譽為“中國肝膽外科之父”的吳孟超院士逝世，享年99歲。這位90多歲高齡仍堅持不下手術臺的老先生，說過一句話：“名譽算什么？我不過就是一個吳孟超嘛。”他一生，這樣默默奉獻，為國家、為醫學、為病人付出一切。但誰能不承認他就是夜空中熠熠生輝的一顆明星呢？

Wu Mengchao, founder of1)hepatobiliary surgery in China and teacher of2)roughly 80 percent of the experts and doctors specializing in3)liver surgeries in the country today, died at age 99 in Shanghai on May 22.

Wu Mengchao was born in Minqing County, Fujian Province in 1922,and went to Malaysia with his family as a child. Later, he returned to China alone and was admitted to the School of Medicine of Shanghai-based Tongji University (now as Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology). After graduating in 1949, Wu Mengchao became a4)surgeon of the first hospital5)affiliated with the Second Military Medical University in Shanghai.

In 1956, he joined the Communist Party of China as well as the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and completed the first liver6)tumor7)resection in China in 1960.

In more than 75 years, Wu Mengchao led the team to successfully complete the world's first middle hepatic lobectomy, and successfully remove the world's largest hepatic cavernous hemangioma, which was the youngest patient in the world.The success rate of liver cancer surgery in China has increased from 15% in the early 1960s to 98.5%, and the overall 5-year survival rate of patients undergoing liver cancer resection is close to 50%.

In 2006, Wu Mengchao won the 2005 National Highest Science and Technology Award.He8)resolutely donated RMB 6 million in prize money,and joined 6 well-known academicians to9)submit to the State Council a proposal for“integrated research on the pathogenesis and prevention of hepatitis B liver cancer”, which was included in a major national science and technology project.

Long before that, in 1997, Wu already set up a fund with a total of 5 million yuan bonus and social donations that he received to reward experts with outstandinɡ achievements in the field of hepatobiliary surgery in China.

Today, the National Liver Cancer Science Center has stood in Anting, Shanghai, and has become the world's largest liver cancer research and prevention base.

吳孟超，中國肝膽外科的創始人，也是現今中國肝臟外科學方面80%的專家、醫生的老師，于5月22日在上海逝世，享年99歲。

吳孟超，1922年出生于福建省閩清縣，幼時隨家人前往馬來西亞。后來，他獨自一人回國，考入同濟大學醫學院（今華中科技大學同濟醫學院）。1949年畢業，吳孟超進入上海第二軍醫大學第一附屬醫院，成為一名外科醫生。

1956年，吳孟超加入中國共產黨并參軍入伍，并于1960年成功完成中國第一例肝癌切除手術。

在超過75年的工作時間里，吳孟超領導團隊成功完成了世界上第一臺人體中肝葉切除手術，成功從世界最年幼的病人身上切除了世界最大的肝海綿狀血管瘤。中國肝癌手術成功率從20世紀60年代初的15%上升到現在的98.5%，肝癌切除手術病人術后五年總存活率接近50%。

2006年，吳孟超榮獲2005年度國家最高科學技術獎。他毅然捐出了600萬元的獎金，又聯合6位知名院士向國務院提交了“集成式研究乙型肝炎肝癌的發病機理與防治”的建議案，該建議案被列入國家科技重大專項。

早在1997年，吳孟超就用其所獲獎金和社會捐贈共500萬元成立了一項基金，用于獎勵中國肝膽外科的杰出人才。

如今，國家肝癌科學中心已屹立在上海安亭，成為世界最大的肝癌研究和防治基地。

推動中國肝臟醫學從無到有，從有到精，吳孟超的成就令全球同行矚目、敬佩。

“一個人生命有限，你不抓緊一下就過去了，所以我要抓緊時間，分秒必爭，為國家、為人民多干點事。”吳孟超曾說。

如今，吳老終于可以好好休息了，但國際社會命名為“吳孟超”星的17606號小行星，仍在天幕中熠熠生輝。
