1. The 50th anniversary of the restoration of China’s legitimate seat in the United Nations 中國恢復聯合國席位50 周年

On October 25th, 1971, the 26th session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution—to restore all the lawful rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations, which is a historic moment. Nowadays, the representatives of China can be seen in almost every United Nations agency, playing an important role as one of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

2. The 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the WTO (World Trade Organization) 中國加入世界貿易組織20周年

On December 11th, China joined WTO officially. It not only marked that China's socialist market economy had been gradually established and improved, but also a true reflection of China's integration into economic globalization.

2001年12月11日,中國正式“入世”。它不僅記錄了中國社會主義市場經濟體制逐步建立和完善的過程，也是中國融入經濟全球化的真實寫照。

3. The 20th anniversary of the establishement of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization 上海合作組織成立20周年

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, short for SCO, is a permanent Intergovernmental International Organization announced on June 15th, 2001 in Shanghai by the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and Republic of Uzbekistan.

上海合作組織，簡稱上合組織(SCO)，成立于2001年6月15日，是中華人民共和國、哈薩克斯坦共和國、吉爾吉斯斯坦、俄羅斯聯邦、塔吉克斯坦共和國、烏茲別克斯坦共和國在中國上海宣布成立的永久性政府間國際組織。

2. congratulate [k?n?ɡr?t?ule?t]：If you congratulate someone, you say something to show you are pleased that something nice has happened to them 祝賀

①congratulate sb. 向某人表示祝賀

②congratulate sb. on/upon sth.因為某事向某人表示祝賀

其中congratulate的賓語必須是“受到祝賀的人”，不能是“所祝賀的事”，表示原因的介詞on/upon后可跟名詞、代詞、動名詞或從句。

提示：celebrate, congratulate這兩個動詞均有“慶祝，祝賀”之意。

celebrate：通常指舉行盛大隆重的儀式慶祝或紀念有意義的日子或某件事情，多暗示節日般的歡樂場面。

congratulate：指對他人祝賀為目的，希望他人幸福或走運。
