教材分析:魯教版八年級上冊共分八個單元。本單元介紹世界之最、談論地理及自然;語用知識方面,學生需學會使用比較級和最高級。本課型為閱讀課,主要談論瀕危動物——熊貓。文章從熊貓的生存環境切入,進一步描述熊貓的飼養員,又過渡到熊貓的生存現狀和人類保護熊貓而采取的舉措。通過層層遞進,引導學生學會珍惜和愛護動物。
學生分析:
處于八年級上學期的學生科目多、壓力大,少有時間去關注身邊動物的生存現狀。隨著學齡增長,英語學習難度逐漸上升,學生依然保持較高的學習激情。
教學目標:
1.學用Scanning(尋讀法)方法有目的的進行篇章快速閱讀;
2.學會使用介紹熊貓動作、動物生存現狀以及人類采取的相關措施的詞匯:bamboo, endangered, research, keeper, awake, excitement, walk into, fall over, or so, illness, wild, government.
3.本節課以國寶大熊貓為切入點,將熊貓保護的話題引入課堂。通過閱讀,學生意識到瀕危動物的生存環境不容樂觀,應攜手為給其創造更好的生存環境而努力。
重難點:掌握尋讀技巧,并能用文章詞匯描述大熊貓,學會用構建思維導圖。

教學過程設計:
Step 1 Leading in 導入環節
The teacher shows a picture of bamboo and ask the students: Whats this? Who eats it? Today we are going to talk about this animal. Please watch a video first.
【設計意圖】充分利用導入環節,采用快捷的方式進入到本節課的主題:熊貓。通過小視頻熱身,調動學生積極性。
Step 2 Panda Adoption(領養) Day“熊貓領養日”游戲貫穿課堂
1. Work in groups and answer teachers' questions to get cards.
2. If the group gets the most cards, it will get the toy panda.
【設計意圖】將整節課程游戲化,提升學生上課回答問題的積極性,保證多數同學能夠開口練習。采用寓教于樂的方式,游戲貫穿整個課堂。
Step 3 Warm-up
Present several words about pandas and make sentences.
【設計意圖】游戲熱身環節,讓學生看到得到獎勵券是很容易的事情,提高興趣。
Step 4 Fast reading
Present a picture of the book and four phrases, and ask students to match the main ideas of each paragraph. Then lead the students to find out that there are two main parts of the passage.
【設計意圖】通過篇章和短語對應的形式讓學生找出每段的段落大意,有助于降低總結段落大意的難度,同時能夠快速掌握全文結構和主要內容。
Step 5 Careful reading-first paragraph
Show students four pictures of paragraph 1 and ask students to read the passage carefully and match four pictures. Teacher shows the main phrases on the screen. Show the pictures of three actions: run over with excitement; walk into friends, fall over. Then make a conclusion: their life is happy.
【設計意圖】閱讀第一段,并將四張圖片進行排序。通過排序,了解本段主要內容。再次精讀四個句子,摘取出其中重要信息,并將動作性詞匯單獨拿出,通過動圖的形式幫助學生理解,總結出熊貓的生活很開心。
Step 6 Careful reading-second paragraph
Present three questions and let students read paragraph 2 carefully, answer the questions: Who is Lin Wei? What does he do every day? Are pandas important in China and why?
【設計意圖】精細閱讀第二段回答問題,將重點放在第三個問題:熊貓在中國很重要,成為了中國的象征。通過國內外領導人和大熊貓的合影來講解為何說大熊貓是中國的象征。
Step 7 Careful reading-third paragraph
Read and answer two questions: How many pandas are there now? Why is the number so small?
【設計意圖】細讀第三段回答問題。從課文中other human activities深入解讀,還有哪些人類行為導致動物滅絕,通過圖片的形式展現污染環境、亂扔垃圾等行為。引導學生深思,還有哪些動物正瀕臨滅絕?引導學生意識到:人類必須改變。
Step 8 Careful reading-fourth paragraph
So what can people do to help save the animals especially pandas? Please read the fourth paragraph and answer: Who are the people? What did they do?
【設計意圖】細讀第四段,了解人類都做了哪些努力去幫助動物。回答兩個問題:行為主體有哪些?他們分別做了什么?通過行為主體展示和填寫表格,繼續引導學生深思:那么作為學生我們能夠做些什么呢?
Step 9 Post reading: what can students do to save the pandas?
1. 4 students in a pair; 2.Talk about pandas problems and how to protect them.
【設計意圖】經過文章閱讀,學生深有保護動物的感觸。作為學生,我們能夠做些什么?讓學生進行思考、討論,為幫助學生更好的輸出,在屏幕上呈現幫助性的詞匯和短語。讓學生上臺做對話進行展示,對表現優秀的小組分發獎勵票進行鼓勵。
Step 10 情感目標和課堂小結
【設計意圖】情感升華環節,再次強調熊貓的重要性,并將重要單詞板書。然后向學生展示由PROTECT組成的藏頭詩。通過呈現不同動物的動圖,讓學生進一步認識到動物在我們大自然的重要性和不可替代性,從而引出情感線:Loving the animals is to love ourselves.
