Are you a big fan of cartoons？ Did you watch the cartoon movies Spirited Away（《千與千尋》） and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind（《風(fēng)之谷》）？

The stories are small but warm. They are works（作品） of Japanese cartoon master（大師） Hayao Miyazaki（宮崎駿）. Miyazaki retired（退休） on Sept 6， 2013. Do you want to read more to get to know him？

Miyazaki was born in 1941. When he was a kid， Miyazaki was not strong， and he was not good at sports. Painting was his favorite hobby.

In his high school， Miyazaki watched the cartoon movie The Tale of the White Serpent（《白蛇傳》）. The movie attracted（吸引） him. He began to take an interest in（產(chǎn)生興趣） cartoons and decided to study how to make them.

Miyazakis father owned（擁有） a plane company. Miyazaki likes planes a lot. He has many fantastic ideas on aircraft（飛行器）. So we can see lots of strange ways of flying in his movies. For example， the big floating（漂浮的） castle（城堡） in Laputa： Castle in the Sky（《天空之城》）. And in My Neighbor Totoro（《龍貓》）， there is a big flying cat bus. It sends children anywhere they want to go.

Pazu is a boy. One day， he sees a girl， Sheeta. Sheeta is floating down from the sky. Pazu catches Sheeta. And then their adventure（探險(xiǎn)） begins. Together they fight（斗爭） bad guys like the pirates（海盜）， the army（軍隊(duì)） and the secret agents（間諜）. The bad people are all looking for Sheetas hometown of Laputa——a castle（城堡） in the sky. Do you have a kitty pet？ Satsuke and Mei are sisters. They have a big friend， Totoro. Totoro is a fairy（精靈） in the forest near the sisters house. It looks like a cat. One day， Satsuke lost Mei in the forest. Totoro and Satsuke start their adventure to find Mei.

Chihiro is a 10-year-old girl. One day her family breaks into（闖入） a magical world accidentally（意外地）. In this world， lazy people become animals. Chihiros parents dont want to work， so they become pigs and eat a lot. Chihiro has to work hard to save（救） her parents. She is not alone（獨(dú)自的）. She met a white dragon called Haku. They help each other and become friends. During this adventure， Chihiro grows more brave and independent（獨(dú)立的）. She is totally different from the past（過去）. This film won an Oscar（奧斯卡） for Best Animated Feature（最佳動(dòng)畫片） in 2003.
