China's first high-speed satellite internet airplane,QW9771,conducted its maiden flight from Qingdao on July 7,2020.
China Satellite Communications Co.Ltd.from CASC provided the high-throughput satellite resources for the maiden flight.
The plane took off from Qingdao Liuting International Airport at 16:46 and landed at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 19:21 Beijing time.
Unlike the internet on other planes that use traditional Ku-band satellites,the QW9771 utilises a high-speed networking system that based on China's only Ka-band high-throughput satellite,China-Sat-16.It can support a high-speed network of more than 100 Mbps,providing passengers with the same networking experience as on the ground.
Passengers can connect their mobile phones to the air internet during level flight,enjoying the entertainment experience with stable quality and rich digital content.
China's first live broadcast in the air was also achieved during this flight.Guests in the plane connected with the live studio on the ground,sharing images in real time and connecting the plane with the ground.
Based on the digital aviation entertainment service system and the digital cabin one-stop software solution,the high-speed satellite internet airplane enabled a multi-dimensional air internet ecology including entertainment,travel service and e-commerce.
