1. When is your birthday， Linda？

琳達，你什么時候過生日？

My birthday is on May 2nd.

我的生日是5月2日。

（1）birthday意思是“生日”。當祝賀別人的生日時，我們常說：Happy birthday to you！意為“祝你生日快樂！”外國人在過生日時經常會舉行一個birthday party（生日聚會）來慶祝生日。如：

—Today is my birthday.

今天是我的生日。

—Happy birthday to you！

祝你生日快樂！

（2）“When is ones birthday？”是詢問某人生日是何時的句型。當別人問：When is your birthday？時，我們可以回答：My birthday is...，也可以回答：Its...。當日期具體到某一天時要用介詞on，on在此句型中可以省略;若只是說在哪個月，或哪一年時，介詞用in。如：

My birthday is （on） October tenth.

我的生日在10月10號。

Tree Planting Day is in March.

植樹節在3月。

注意：when除了可以用來對年、月、日提問外，還能用于對具體的時間點提問，此時用介詞at。如：

—when is your birthday party， Anna？

安娜，你的生日聚會在什么時候？

—My birthday party is at 5 oclock this afternoon.

我的生日聚會在今天下午五點鐘。

2. When is your fathers birthday？

你爸爸什么時候過生日？

fathers是名詞father的所有格形式，意思是“爸爸的……”。名詞所有格是由“名詞 + s”構成的，譯為“……的”。其具體用法如下：

（1）名詞單數加s，若名詞單數以s結尾，則所有格可加s，也可直接加。如：

This is my uncles bedroom.

這是我叔叔的臥室。

That is Dennis backpack.

那是丹尼斯的背包。

（2）以s或es結尾的名詞復數只加。如：

These are students textbooks.

這些是學生的課本。

These two sweaters are the twins.

這兩件毛衣是雙胞胎的。

（3）如果事物或人是兩個名詞共同所有，則在后一個名詞上加s。如：

This is Lucy and Lilys room.

這是露西和莉莉的房間。

Miss Green is Lin Tao and Lin Fans teacher.

格林小姐是林濤和林帆的老師。

（4）如果事物或人是兩個名詞分別所有，則在每一個名詞后分別加s。如：

These are Lucys and Lilys desks.

3. How old are you？

你多大了？

how old對年齡提問，回答時常用句型：Im + 數詞./Im... years old.，如：

—How old is your brother？

你的弟弟多大了？

—Hes only five （years old）.

他只有5歲。

—How old is Jane？

簡多大年齡了？

—She is eleven （years old）.

她11歲。

注意：在講英語的國家，可以詢問孩子的年齡，但對于成年人一般不直接問及年齡，尤其是女士。問女士的年齡被認為是不禮貌的。

1.序數詞的構成：

一般在基數詞后加th，如：four→fourth，thirteen→thirteenth，多位數把個位變序數詞。

2.基數詞變序數詞：

基數詞變為序數詞的規則（口訣）：

基變序，有規律，詞尾加上th;

一、二、三特殊記，結尾t、d、d。

八減t，九減e，f要把ve替;

ty把y改為i，記得th前有個e。

若是碰上幾十幾，前用基來后用序

3.序數詞的用法：

（1）the + 序數詞，表示“第幾”。如：

John lives on the fifteenth floor.

約翰住在十五樓。

（2）年、月、日的表達。年用基數詞表示，日用序數詞表示。如：

December 1st， 2020? 2020年12月1日
