在日常生活中，人們常常需要了解對方的計劃、打算以調整自己的活動，從而使生活更加和諧。為此，人們要思考如何誠懇、委婉地表達自己的意愿、請求，如何簡潔、準確地陳述自己的觀點、計劃、方案，以及如何有禮貌地答復他人的請求。《考試大綱》及課標中的“計劃與愿望”主題涉及的主要內容有：（1）Planning （holidays,social events,travel,further education,jobs,etc.）；（2）Organising（asking for advice/help/permission,exploring possibilities,expressing needs and wants,etc.）。

關于“計劃與愿望”主題的寫作常有以下幾個命題角度：

1.策劃一次班會；

2.打算為家人購買生日禮物；

3.制訂假期旅游觀光計劃；

4.做好將來當老師、醫生等的人生規劃；

5.向老師、校長或家長尋求建議；
