叢林狼和兔子

這是一個關于叢林狼和兔子賽跑的故事。很久以前的一天，叢林狼遇見了兔子，并向他吹噓說自己是跑得最快的動物，然而兔子也毫不示弱，于是他們就約定要進行一場跑步比賽。

Long ago， Coyote（叢林狼）met Rabbit in the woods（樹林）.

“I can run as fast as the wind，” Coyote bragged （吹噓）.“I am the fastest animal！”

“I can run fast， too，” said Rabbit.

“Lets have a race（比賽），” said Coyote. “I am faster than you. So I will win the race.”

兔子深知叢林狼跑得特別快，但是自己還是很想贏得比賽，徹底滅掉叢林狼囂張的氣焰。于是他向其他兔子兄弟尋求幫助。你們猜，兔子們會想出一個怎樣的好計謀來戰勝叢林狼呢？

“Help me trick（戲弄） Coyote，” said Rabbit. “Then I can win the race.”

比賽當天，兔子提議說自己將在地下的洞里面進行跑步，叢林狼自以為勝券在握，便爽快地答應了。

The race was the next day.

Rabbit said， “I will run underground （地下）.”

“That is fine. I run faster than you，”bragged Coyote. “So I will win.”

The race began.

Coyote dashed off（匆忙離去）！ Rabbit jumped into a hole.

跑步比賽正式開始，叢林狼一溜煙就不見了蹤影。而接下來，神奇的事件發生了，每當叢林狼停下來要休息的時候，總能看見兔子提早出現在那里等待他。同學們，你們知道兔子用的是什么方法嗎？

Coyote ran very fast. Then he stopped to rest.

A rabbit came out of a hole ahead of him.

It was one of Rabbits brothers. But Coyote didnt know that.

Coyote ran faster. Then he stopped to rest.

It was another（另一個） one of Rabbits brothers. But Coyote didnt know that.

Coyote ran even faster. Then he stopped to rest again.

盡管叢林狼已經氣喘吁吁了，但是為了追趕兔子，他拼盡全力地加速前進，像風一樣地奔跑著。

So Coyote ran. He ran as fast as the wind（風）.

Rabbit ran， too. He ran out of the last hole. Coyote saw Rabbit win the race！

Rabbit and his brothers laughed and laughed.

And Coyote never bragged again！

這是一個富有寓意的故事，叢林狼總是喜歡吹噓自己是跑步健將，從不將別人看在眼里。為了糾正叢林狼的觀念，給他一個教訓，聰明的兔子聯合其他兔子兄弟一起設計了一個“大圈套”——其實，在賽跑的過程中，每次與叢林狼相遇的兔子，都只是兔子兄弟團中的一員，但是叢林狼卻蒙在鼓里，最終眼睜睜地看著兔子贏得第一名。從此以后，叢林狼就再也不敢跟別人吹噓了。
