Guangxi spring cocoon on the market in 2020

Around April 15， Guangxi spring cocoons were on the market in batches in Hengxian， Yongning District， Jingxi， Napo and other places. However， COVID-19 affected the domestic consumption and the international main cocoon silk consumption market. Italy， the United States and India reduced imports， resulting in a sharp decline in cocoon silk prices， reduced orders or even cancelled cocoon silk orders， stagnation of sales， overstock of products， and difficulties in the flow and stagnation of capital. The purchase price of single cocoon in Hengxian， Xincheng and other places is between 26 and 31 yuan/kg. Napo， Jingxi and other places started the purchase policy of protection price. The purchase price of first-class fresh cocoon is 40 yuan/ kg. Cocoon prices are down 22% and 48% respectively compared with the same period last year and the prices are low.

Facing the current difficulties， the industry needs to take multiple measures to overcome the difficulties. In the near future， all departments at all levels in accordance with the relevant provisions of the central government and the autonomous region seriously implement various preferential support policies for resumption of production； all functional departments actively strive for a number of rescue measures， including raw silk reserves， financing loans， etc. In view of the current special situation， sericulture farmers should adjust their reasonable expectations， arrange production reasonably， and increase their income through measures such as improving the success rate of sericulture and cocoon quality； cocoon and silk processing enterprises should strive to overcome difficulties， actively raise funds， ensure reasonable cocoon prices， protect the interests of sericulture farmers as much as possible， and jointly safeguard the sustainable， healthy and stable development of the industry.
