Xi Meets with Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 12.

Xi asked Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to convey sincere greetings to General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong. He stressed that China and Vietnam remain comrades and brothers as members of a community of shared future with strategic significance. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Vietnam. The two sides should stay true to the original aspirations， look at the big picture， carry on their friendship and deepen cooperation to elevate bilateral relations to new heights from the start of a new chapter. The two sides should optimally utilize the traditional advantages of inter-party exchange， deepen experience exchange in party governance and state administration and learn from each others theoretical innovation to maintain vitality of the two parties and jointly promote robust development of the socialist cause. The two countries should enhance integration of development strategies， centralize integration cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative and the “Two Corridors and One Economic Circle，” promote the upgrading and improvement of practical cooperation between the two countries and build a mutually beneficial and win-win comprehensive cooperation pattern. The two sides should intensify non-governmental exchange to pass on friendship from generation to generation. Both sides should respect the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples， earnestly implement consensus reached by high-level leaders of the two parties and the two countries， and safeguard maritime peace and stability with concrete action. Both sides should enhance coordination and cooperation in international affairs to safeguard their common interests.

Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan conveyed General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trongs warm regards and best wishes to Xi Jinping. She declared that the Communist Party of Vietnam， Vietnam and the Vietnamese people would never forget the valuable support and assistance provided by Chinese comrades in the past and present. She also predicted that her Chinese comrades would accomplish the significant development goals set at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China （CPC） under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core. The Vietnamese are willing to work with the Chinese to follow the guidance of the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries， firmly support each other on the socialist development path， carry forward traditional friendship， deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and effectively manage differences to ensure the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership sees greater development.
