一、教材分析

這單元介紹的是世界各地的不同種類的節(jié)日，旨在讓學生知道各地舉辦節(jié)日的原因以及其慶祝方式，鼓勵學生介紹自己國家的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日。

二、學情分析

本節(jié)課的授課對象是高一的學生，他們能夠讀懂文章的大概意思。但是，要恰當運用英語詞匯表達自己的看法，以及通過英語文章的閱讀獲取相關(guān)信息對于高一學生有一定困難。

三、教學目標

1.通過本課時的學習，學生能夠讀懂課文大意，掌握與節(jié)日有關(guān)的重點詞匯。

2.使學生學會通過略讀，尋找文章的主題句，通過查讀，捕捉文章的重要細節(jié)、理解作者的寫作意圖，從而提高閱讀理解能力。

3.使學生知道節(jié)日的起源以及慶祝方式，進而使他們在學習語言的同時了解更多的文化，激發(fā)學生們對于節(jié)日、文化，尤其是中國的傳統(tǒng)文化的興趣，提升他們的文化意識。

四、教學重點及難點

1.掌握有關(guān)節(jié)日的詞匯以及這些節(jié)日的起源和主要的慶祝方式。

2.使學生養(yǎng)成科學的閱讀習慣，提高閱讀理解能力和語言水平。

五、教學方法

1.以任務型教學為主，強調(diào)教學方法的靈活性和多樣性。

2.采取小組合作的方法，培養(yǎng)學生的合作精神。

六、教學過程

Step1.Leading-in and Warming-up

1.First show the students some pictures of festivals to introduce the topic of this unit.

2.Ask students to discuss with their partners and tell the differences among the festivals.

設計意圖：通過談論節(jié)日，從而引入本單元的話題：Festivals around the world。

Step2.Pre-reading

Get the students to discuss the questions with their partners in this part.Then ask them to report their work.This part will help the students understand the text.

設計意圖：通過“讀前”部分設計的討論題，激發(fā)學生的閱讀興趣，訓練學生的閱讀技巧。

Step3.Reading

1.Guessing

Why was the whole country filled with joy and excitement during the winter vacation？

What do people do during the Spring Festival/the Lantern Festival？

2.Skimming and Scanning

1）Read fast to prove your guess.

2）Finish the table

3）Give students 2 minutes to summarize the main idea of the story.

設計意圖：培養(yǎng)學生快速捕捉文章大意、把握文章主要信息的能力。

3.Detail reading

Read the text carefully and decide the following sentences are true or not.

（1）The ancient people neednt worry about their food（F）

（2）Halloween used to be a festival intended to honor the dead.（T）

（3）Easter celebrates the birth of Jesus.（F）

（4）The Mid-autumn Festival is held to celebrate the end of autumn.（F）

（5）There is pink snow in spring in Japan.（F）

Step 4.Explain some language points

（1）keep her word：keep her promise

（2）hold ones breath：wait without much hope

（3）drown ones sadness/sorrow in coffee：drink coffee in order to forget the sadness/sorrow

（4）remind sb of sth：make ab think of sth

設計意圖：通過本環(huán)節(jié)進一步拓展話題內(nèi)容，培養(yǎng)學生的閱讀能力。

Step 5 Homework

1.Retell the text，trying to use the modal verbs.

2.Write an introduction of the festival that you are fond of.

八、教學反思

1.本堂課在教學設計上，從學生的興趣和生活經(jīng)驗出發(fā)，采取合作與交流的學習方式，培養(yǎng)學生的閱讀能力，注重學生全面發(fā)展和個體差異的統(tǒng)一，閱讀任務設計由淺入深，符合學生的認知特點。基本達到了教學目標。

2.本課在思維拓展，話題討論的處理上，時間略顯倉促，學生未能有充分的時間思考、準備。
