20年后的日本（Japan），狗狗（dogs）的數量激增，犬流感（Dog-flu）肆虐，小林市長（Mayor Kobayashi）發布了一道政令，將一座垃圾島（Trash Island）變成“犬之島”（Isle of Dogs）. Mayor的養子阿塔里（Atari）為了尋回愛犬點點（Spots），獨自飛往“犬之島”。在島上，他得到了五只dogs 的支持和保護，找到了Spots并解放了Isle of Dogs.

I’m Chief. I’m a stray. In fact Spots is my brother. Instead of him， I become Atari’s dog at last.

我是“首領”，我是只流浪狗。事實上點點是我的哥哥。最后我代替他當上了阿塔里的護衛犬。

I’m Atari. I’m twelve years old. I want to find my dog. His name is Spots. He is my best friend.

我是阿塔里，今年12歲。我想找到我的狗狗，他的名字叫點點。他是我最好的朋友。

I’m Rex. Chief， Boss， Duke and King are my friends. We help Atari look for his dog Spots.

我是“君主”。“首領”、“老板”、“公爵”和“國王”都是我的朋友。我們幫助阿塔里尋找他的愛犬點點。

I’m Mayor Kobayashi. I don’t like dogs. I banish all the dogs to Trash Island.

我是小林市長，我不喜歡狗。我下令把所有狗都流放到垃圾島。

Mayor Kobayashi下令將所有dogs都流放到Trash Island，他家的護衛犬Spots首當其沖。Atari駕駛著飛機 （plane）降落到了Isle of Dogs。Chief， Rex， Boss， Duke和King幫助他一起找Spots。

Chief：? Small guy. Not much meat on him.? 是個小孩，身上沒什么肉。

Duke：? Yeah， is he dead？? 哦，他死了嗎？

King：? He looks dead.? 看上去死了。

Boss：? I have a question. Are we eating him， or a rescue？

我有個問題：我們是吃了他，還是要救他？

Chief：? We haven’t know yet. 現在還不知道。

Rex：? Nobody’s eating the little pilot. 誰都不能吃掉他

Chief桀驁不馴，習慣了漂泊，寧愿挨餓受凍也不愿脖子上掛Spots的標牌。但Chief最終還是因為Atari對它喂食餅干（biscuit）和沐浴梳理等愛心舉動而折服。

Atari： Biscuit. 餅干。

Chief： I can’t accept that. It’s for your dog.

我不能吃。它是給你的狗狗的。

Atari： Biscuit. 餅干。

Chief： OK. I’ll try it. This is my new favourite food.

好的，我試試。現在我最愛的食物是這個。

最終，Atari不僅找到了Spots，還聯合流放到Isle of Dogs 的所有動物一起對抗政府，取消了法令。Atari當上了新市長，Chief則代替Spots成了他的新護衛犬。

Spots： Master Atari， are you willing to accept my brother Chief？ 阿塔里主人，你是否愿意接受我的弟弟？

Atari： Em ... 嗯……

Spots： Chief， are you willing to accept Atari as your master and protect him？

首領，你愿意接受阿塔里成為你的主人并保護他嗎？

Chief： I can do that. 我能做到。

Spots： Good. 好。
