Section A

1. Can you play the guitar？

你會彈吉他嗎？

（1）句中can是情態動詞，沒有人稱和數的變化，不能單獨作謂語，須與別的動詞原形共同構成謂語。如：

I can sing English songs.

我會唱英文歌曲。

（2）play the guitar意為“彈吉他”。當play后跟樂器時，通常應用定冠詞the；但play后跟球類時，不加任何冠詞。如：

play the drum 打鼓 play football 踢足球

2. I want to join the art club.

我想加入藝術俱樂部。

（1）join v. 加入，成為……的一員；連接

She wants to join the English club.

她想加入英語俱樂部。

Join the two maps together.

把這兩幅地圖連起來。

（2）art n. 藝術，美術

an art teacher 一名美術老師 an art lesson 一堂美術課

3. speak English 說英語

speak v. 說（某種語言）；說話

I can speak a little French.

我會說一點法語。

4. Youre very good at telling stories.

你很擅長講故事。

（1）be good at意為“擅長……”，后接名詞、代詞或v-ing形式。如：

Im good at playing chess.

我擅長下象棋。

（2）tell v. 講述；告訴

Dont tell me you are hungry now！

別告訴我你現在就餓了！

tell sb to do sth 讓某人做某事

My mother tells me to get up early.

我媽媽讓我要早起。

GRAMMAR FOCUS

情態動詞can的用法

can是情態動詞，意為“能；會”，表示某人或某物具備的能力。沒有人稱和數的變化，后面接動詞原形。

I can speak English.

我會講英語。

can的句型變換：

（1）變為否定句：在情態動詞can后加not，其縮寫形式為cant。

She cant play the piano.

她不會彈鋼琴。

（2）變為一般疑問句：將情態動詞can提到句首。

肯定回答：Yes， 主語 + can.

否定回答：No， 主語 + cant.

—Can you speak Japanese？

你會說日語嗎？

—Yes， I can. / No， I cant.

是的，我會說。/ 不，我不會說。

（3）變為特殊疑問句：句型通常為“特殊疑問詞 + can + 主語 + 動詞原形 + ... ？”。

我喜歡英語，他也喜歡英語。（用于肯定句末）

I dont like salad， and he doesnt like salad， either.

我不喜歡沙拉，他也不喜歡沙拉。（用于否定句末）

2. I like to talk and play games with people.

我喜歡和別人交談以及玩游戲。

talk n. & v. 說話；交談

Please talk to Mr Zhang after school.

請在放學后和張老師談談。

（1）talk with sb 與某人交談

（2）talk about sth 談論某事

My mother is talking with my teacher about my study.

我媽媽正在和老師談論我的學習情況。

比較：speak，tell和talk

speak意為“說話”，可表示說某種語言；tell強調“告訴”某人某事；talk強調雙方的“談話；交談”。

3. We need help at the old peoples home.

我們在老人之家需要幫助。

（1）help v. 幫助，幫忙

① help sb （to） do sth 幫助某人做某事

Can you help me （to） carry the box？

你能幫我搬箱子嗎？

② help sb with sth 幫助某人做某事/在……方面幫助某人

My friends often help me with my English.

我的朋友們經常幫助我學習英語。

③ help n. 幫助，幫忙

Thanks for your help.

謝謝你的幫忙。

（2）home n. & adv. 家；到家；在家

I stay at home all day.

我整天待在家。

I go home at five oclock.

我五點回家。

4. They can tell you stories， and you can make friends.

他們能給你講故事，你能和他們交朋友。

make v. 使成為；制造

We want to make our schoolyard into a beautiful garden.

我們想要把我們的校園變成一個美麗的花園。

make friends with 和……交朋友
