朱競翔

朱競翔于1988年進入東南大學建筑系學習，其后在東南大學建筑研究所與蘇黎世瑞士聯邦理工學院建筑系深造，并獲得博士學位。畢業后他曾在東南大學、南京大學執教，2004年加入香港中文大學建筑學院。目前作為香港中文大學全職終身教授從事設計教學與前沿性的建筑研究工作。

自1995年起，朱競翔曾在江蘇有過連續十年的建筑實踐，并專注于教育醫療類建筑設計。他的公共建筑作品曾屢獲獎項并參加過香港、北京、上海、深圳多項建筑展覽。2000年，朱競翔作為最年輕的參展建筑師和張永和、王澍、劉家琨與艾未未等人入選柏林“土木－來自中國的年青建筑學”展覽，成為首批在國際舞臺亮相的中國獨立建筑師。

ZHU Jingxiang entered into School of Architecture of Southeast University in 1988 and later studied in the Research Institute of Architecture at Southeast University and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich for his postgraduate degrees.Later he worked at Southeast University and Nanjing University. In 2004 he joined School of Architecture in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Now he works as a full-time tenured professor.

Since 1995, ZHU Jingxiang had consecutive years of architectural practice in Jiangsu Province and focused on educational and medical buildings. His works received many awards and exhibited in Hong Kong,Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. As the youngest architect, ZHU Jingxiang was selected to participate in exhibition “TU MU - Young Architecture of China"in Berlin, together with Yung Ho CHANG, AI Weiwei,WANG Shu, LIU Jiakun, ZHANG Lei, a first group of China independent architects exposed at the international stage.

受到早期現代運動中工程師工作的影響，朱競翔通過他的博士研究探討結構工程師的創新方法，探討建筑與結構設計的互動與整合，之后在香港中文大學發展了通過結構設計來創造空間的領先設計課程。

2008年四川大地震之后，他利用空間結構與建筑物料的研究成果，研發了輕型復合房屋體系以及箱式房屋系統，并帶領研究小組在四川省和云南省先后建造了三所高品質抗震環保小學與四座生態工作基站，示范了非常獨特的災后重建與發展的途徑。這一工作獲得了2010年的 WA 世界建筑獎優勝獎（最高獎）、第二屆中國建筑傳媒獎組委會特別提名獎以及2012年《華爾街日報》2012中國創新人物獎。

目前朱競翔專注于研究環保型建筑、新型空間結構、輕質建筑物料以及地方建造傳統整理。他的工作與研究論文發表于中國大陸、臺灣、香港、韓國、意大利、荷蘭與瑞士等地專業期刊。

After the catastrophic 2008 Sichuan earthquake,ZHU Jingxiang integrated research output to develop lightweight building systems. A team led by him later built three high-performance rural schools and four workstations for nature reserves in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, demonstrating unique approaches of reconstruction and sustainable development.Other than a series of academic award winning, ZHU Jingxiang himself won 2012 “Wall Street Journal (WSJ)China Innovator Award”.

Inspired by the pioneer engineer works, ZHU Jingxiang conducted his doctoral research on the innovation and approaches of structural engineers, critical to the architecture and structure interaction and integration.When teaching in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he developed creative program on generating spatial concept through load bearing design for architectural students.

ZHU Jingxiang focus his research on lightweight building system, new space structure, as well as vernacular and traditional constructions. His works and research papers published on professional journals in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Italy,Netherlands and Switzerland.
