□語篇導讀

祝福是全世界的共同語言，而歷史最悠久、最傳統的祝福方式則是用紙質賀卡進行傳遞。在人們追逐物質生活的今天，相互間寄發一張賀卡相比單純于物欲的追求無疑是一種較好形式的精神慰藉和情感交流。

在現代通訊日漸發達的今天，人們使用卡片來慶祝佳節、生日、畢業等，仍不失為一種時尚的交際手段。在各種喜慶的日子，寄上一張精美的賀卡，可以增添生活的色彩，加深人們間的友誼。

賀卡上面一般都印有各種圖案,如果在圖案下面再親筆寫上你的祝賀用語,既能表達寄卡者的真心誠意,又能使收卡人倍感溫馨親切。

英語賀卡所采用的語言風格依據收卡人而定。如果收卡人是親朋好友,卡片可采用非正式的格式,語言比較口語化,語氣傾向于輕松、幽默；如果是送給老師或長輩,用語和格式都要規范一些,語氣也應比較莊重。

□賀卡格式

賀卡一般分為日期、抬頭、正文、結尾謙稱和簽名五個部分,類似一封英文信件。

一、寫卡日期

寫卡的日期包括年、月、日,位置放在卡的右上角,和中文賀卡日期的位置不一樣(中文賀卡的日期放在簽名下面)。英語賀卡對日期的要求并不像信件的要求那么嚴格,有的賀卡可以不寫日期。

二、賀卡抬頭

抬頭是指對收卡人的稱呼。它的使用視關系的親密程度而定,最常見的是“To Mr....”(to也可省略)。 如果是寄給朋友,也可采用“To my best friend”,“To a good friend”等稱呼；如果關系親密,可采用“Dearest...”或“My dearest...”,也可省略抬頭稱呼。 稱呼后面要加逗號。

三、賀卡正文

賀卡的正文在稱呼下面。按照書信的正文格式,可以對齊稱呼或縮進四個字母另起一至兩行寫。

四、結尾謙稱

結尾謙稱與抬頭相對應,也因關系的深淺而有所不同,它位于信的結尾的右下端。常見的有Sincerely yours,Yours sincerely等,親朋好友之間可用 Love,With love,As ever,Affectionately yours等。結尾謙稱后面一定要加逗號。

五、賀卡簽名

簽名在結尾謙稱的下面,對齊結尾謙稱的第一個字母或在結尾謙稱偏右處。簽名前后不加尊稱或頭銜之類的詞。

□賀卡種類

一、圣誕節和新年賀卡(Christmas and New Year's Cards)

圣誕節與新年的賀卡大致可以分為三類：一類是寄給長輩,像父母、叔嬸、舅舅、姨娘等；另一類是寄給老師、師傅、領導等；還有一類是贈同輩的兄弟姐妹,親朋好友。例如：

1.致父母

Dear Mom and Dad,

I will be home,of course,for New Year's Day.But I want to wish you a special New Year's wish.Rich blessings for health and longevity are my wish for you in the coming year.By the way,I miss Mom's spring roll very much!

Your daughter

2.致老師

Dear Mr.Wu,

I'm not your best student,but you are my most admirable teacher.On this special holiday,I,a student of yours,wish you youth forever and much joy to you in the upcoming year.

Dear Anne,

A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you! Allow me to offer you Season's Greetings on the advent of what surely be a bright and prosperous New Year. I trust thatyou and your family are enjoying this holiday season in excellent health.

二、母親節和父親節賀卡 (Mother's Day and Father's Day Cards)

五月的第二個星期日是母親節,六月的第三個星期日是父親節,為慶祝這兩個節日,人們在這兩天會與父母親歡聚一堂,并向他們贈送賀卡或禮物,以感謝他們多年來的辛勤操勞。有的孩子還在這兩天包攬家務,好讓父母親好好享受一下這個屬于他們自己的節日。例如：

1.致母親

Dear Mom,

I look back on all of my years and consider myself lucky because I have you as Mom.Thank you for helping me through the tough times.

四、生日賀卡(Birthday Cards)

在西方國家,每逢某人生日,家人常常為他(她)舉辦生日聚會,邀請親朋好友參加,受邀的人總是忘不了贈送賀卡以示慶賀。生日賀卡一般上面都有印好的圖案、賀詞和歲數,如在已有的賀詞下面再親筆寫上幾句祝福的話,會給人以親切、鄭重的感覺。例如：

無論是中學畢業,還是大學畢業,都是人生重要的里程碑。西方國家對畢業非常重視,學校舉行專門的畢業典禮,往往畢業生的父母也被邀請參加。畢業賀卡一般都是恭賀畢業或預祝未來成功的內容,也有人借此寫上幾句話來消除彼此間已有的誤會。例如：

Dear Shanshan,

Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your graduation from high school.I feel sure your parents must be specially proud of you,for you have finished high school with such a brilliant scholastic record.
