Three Brothers, Three Outstanding Veterinarians

In the remote interview conducted by Special Focus Magazine, Doctor Zong Meng reported, “I am 29 years old, while Zong Chao and Zong Gai are both 28. They are twins.We are all new veterinarians. And our wives are also veterinarians.”After that, Zong Meng sent me their relevant certificates proving that they were pursuing top veterinary skills. What’s more,they had received high-end professional training in Beijing,Shanghai, Nanjing, Taiwan and many other places.

Looking at the X-ray photos after the operation, I felt a sense of relief for the young eagle-owl,while simultaneously showing my approval for the Zong brothers’amazing veterinary skills. The bird’s left leg was inset with a total of eight screws and was fixed with a steel plate. You can imagine how delicate the technique is in this bone surgery done for such a small creature.

The successful operation is a result of the combined efforts of the Zong brothers. “Zong Gai is an anesthetist. In all major operations, he is in charge of anesthesia. Zong Chao is adept at surgery, and my wife Zhang Kun is good at ultrasound examination.”Zong Meng said proudly when introducing the fortes of his vet family.

Zong Meng said that the operation took 45 minutes and went quite well. I asked him the normal price of an operation like this, to which he replied that it cost about 7800 yuan. For a small private animal hospital, this was not a small amount. I wondered why he volunteered to perform this operation, and Zong Meng told me two reasons. The first was that his wife, Zhang Kun, loved wild animals with all her heart and was willing to lend her skilled hands, and the second one was that wild animals were not like domestic pets. The care towards them was purely out of love.

It’s great that one family member is a vet. Why are the three brothers and their wives all veterinarians?

Zong Meng explained, “When I was 7 years old and my twin brothers were 6, we took care of a puppy together. Later, it died of illness. There was nothing we could do to save it. We were so overwhelmed with grief at the incident that we could never get it out of our collective memory.”

This may have actually been fate. Zong Chao was assigned to a police dog unit of the Special Forces after he was recruited into the army. He studied veterinary medicine and took care of police dogs in the base. Zong Meng likewise studied in veterinary medicine. Zong Gai majored in anesthesia when he was at college.After Zong Chao and Zong Gai retired from military service,the Zong brothers unanimously agreed to establish an animal hospital and named it Runlong.They were determined to devote themselves to helping and protecting animals. 一門三兄弟 個個好獸醫

“我29歲，宗超、宗蓋都是28歲，他倆是孿生兄弟，我們都是初出道的獸醫”，醫生宗猛接受本刊遠程采訪時謙虛地說，“我們的媳婦也都是獸醫。”說完，宗猛把他們的資格證書和各種培訓學習證書，一個接一個地發給我看。從培訓資格證書看得出，他們是追求精湛技藝的，他們到北京、上海、南京、臺灣等地參加過曽醫專業的高端培訓。

看著他們給雕梟做完手術后的X光照片，我一邊為小雕梟感到慶幸，一邊打心底里為他們兄弟幾個的醫術喝彩。小雕梟的腿上一共打了八顆螺釘，用一塊鋼板固定起來?？上攵獮檫@樣一個小小的生靈做接骨手術，手法得有多細膩。

手術是宗猛兄弟三人共同努力的杰作。“宗蓋是麻醉師，凡是重大手術，都得經過他實施麻醉。宗超擅長外科，我媳婦張琨善長超聲檢查。”宗猛把兄弟幾個的絕活一一亮了出來。

宗猛說，手術花了45分鐘，還算順利。我問他，像這樣的手術，正常情況下得多少錢？他說大概要7800元左右。我很好奇，對于這樣一家小小的私立動物醫院，這筆錢不是個小數目，可他們卻自愿免單。我問他免單的原因，他說了兩個方面。一是她愛人張琨酷愛野生動物，逢求必救。二是野生動物不像家養寵物，大家都是出于愛心救助，各盡善心。

一個家庭出一個曽醫已經了不起，為什么他們兄弟三人連同妯娌三人，都當了獸醫呢？

宗猛道出了個中原委：“我7歲、他們6歲那年，我們兄弟三人共同養了一只小狗，后來小狗病死了。面對小狗的死，我們無能為力，很是傷心。這件事，在我們童年的記憶里留下了很深的印記?！?/p>

上蒼冥冥之中也有安排。宗超當兵后被分到特種兵警犬基地，學獸醫，愛護警犬；宗蓋上學時學的麻醉專業：宗猛學的也是獸醫。宗超、宗蓋退役后，三兄弟想到了一起，辦起這家曽醫院，并取了個好聽的名字“潤瓏”，他們決心將救助動物生命這份愛心事業干好。
