Protecting the environment

Chairman Xi once said that beautiful scenery is the gold and sliver mines， which indicates both developing economy and protecting the environment are of the same importance.

However， as we all know， our environment is suffering more and more serious desttructions. To develop economy and improve people’s life， a large number of trees have been cut down and wide ranges of mountains have been pulled down to build skyscrapers. Waste water from factories is being poured into rivers while waste gas from factories is being given off into the sky directly . Man’s behaviors are threatening people’s lives.

The earth is home to our human beings. It is our duty to protect the environment. Fortunately， more and more countries and people have realized this terrible problem. So far， effective measures have been taken to cope with environmental problems by the governments and some laws have been passed to stop pollution， especially in China. Chairman Xi emphasized that we want both golden， silver hills and clean water， green mountains as well. Our Chinese people have made great contributions to protecting the environment.

I hope the environmental problem will be solved in the near future. Our home will become more and more beantiful and our life will be better and better.
