The formation of combustible ice requires three basic conditions: first, the temperature can not be too high, and the maximum limit is 20℃; second, the pressure should be enough, but at the same time not too big--combustible ice can be generated at 0℃, 30 or more atmospheric pressure; third, there are underground gas resources.

Combustible ice is a natural gas hydrate, which is a kind of ice-like crystalline substance formed by natural gas and water under high pressure and low temperature. It is called combustible ice, solid gas, or air ice because it looks like ice and burns in flames. Compared with other energy resources, combustible ice has two major advantages that are not available in traditional energy: one is high energy efficiency, burning fast, and the other is very environmentally friendly, burning cleanly. There is no dust pollution compared with coal, no gas pollution compared with oil, and no other impurity pollution compared with traditional natural gas.
During the development of the combustible ice in the future , to further establish the position of combustible ice resources in China's energy strategy, we should give priority to developing medium and long-term planning of combustible ice development, draw on advanced experience of developed countries, aim at world-class level, establish and perfect technical standard and technology system of mining, and strengthen the independent research and development ability of core technology.
