The local textile industry is very dynamic in rising investment and booming activities from field to fashion even though Xinjiang is the best known for the raw material base with its long-staple cotton production， as is convincingly manifested by the total fixed assets investment in recent three years（2014 - 2016） that outnumbers the monetary sum over its foregoing 35 years from 1978 to 2013， while the number of enterprises increases from 560 in 2013 to 2，083 in 2016 .

In an ambitious blueprint prospect， Xinjiang will provide one million jobs in ten years by putting on stream the totalized production capacities that breaks down into 13 million spindles in cotton textile sector， 50，000 spindles in wool textile， 50，000 bast fiber spinning facilities， 15，000 looms， 25，000 tons of knitted fabrics， 200 million units of apparel， 8 million sets of bedding， 18，000 tons of towels， 1.8 million square meters of rugs and carpets， 20，000 tons of technical textiles and 870，000 tons of viscose staple fiber when this ambitious schema is fulfilled in 10 years. The Schema for Development of Employment-Centered Textile and Apparel Industry （2014 - 2023） issued by local government in Xinjiang， as endorsed by the central governmental in Beijing， vows to develop this Uygur autonomous region into a new textile regime featuring a vertically-integrated industrial system in a complete value chain of considerable size and immensity at a highly-efficient productivity.

Situated in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt， Xinjiang enjoys a variety of special advantages in terms of raw materials， electricity prices， land， labor costs， tax incentives， and geographical pivot in westbound exports on road and rail transportation， increased level of infrastructure and economic growth， all of which will make it possible for the ambitious Textile Schema to be realized ahead of the timeline.

In the process of implementing the 10-year program， Xinjiang provides a wide spectrum of opportunities for international and domestic business community to develop in a way that leads to a winwin destination.
