In Lesson 1，students learned “Elias story” and know about Nelson Mandela through Elias. In this lesson，students will know more qualities in Nelson Mandela.

1. We learned Elias story on Monday. Elias introduced his life from 1952 to 1963.Can you retell Eliasstory with your words？

2. Then what happened to Elias？ Have a guess！

1. Fast reading

First，please listen to the tape. Then youll have 1 minute to think out one or two sentences to summarize the main idea.Whats “ The rest of Elias story” about？（ listening ）

Lets read the passage again.Before we read，lets look at some questions on ppt.（表格）Now please read it carefully and try your best to find the answers from the passage.（ reading） Have you finished yeat？ Ok，youll have three minutes to discuss with your partner.（discussing）Ok.The first question. Why was Elias better educated？ S：T：Good. Because Mandela taught him in prison.

The last one. Why did Elias accept the job in the end？ S：T：Yes. Elias think it a reward for him.Now please pay attention the this new word—reward.（knowledge point 3）reward 既可以做名詞，又可以做及物動詞。

b. give/offer a reward to sb for sth eg. English teacher give a reward to me for my effort.

（2） reward vt. a. reward sb with sth eg. He rewards me with a smile.

b. reward sb for （doing） sth. eg.My classmate rewarded me for helping him in English.

When we leared Elias story. We find mandale is generous. He offered guidance to black people. So，in the rest of Elias story，what qualities did you find in Mandela？Youll have 5minutes to discuss in group of four.
