1. spread vt. 鋪開；展開；伸開；涂抹

vi. 伸展；延伸；蔓延，傳染；傳播；傳開

Janet spread a cloth on the desk.

Talking on the Telephone

Each Sunday the minister called the children to the front of the church while he told them a story. Once he brought a telephone to better illustrate the idea of prayer.
