Q1： What is China Southern's advantage on the routes?

Zhang:China Southern has the most extensive domestic route networks as well as a fl eet of outstanding operation performance. With a fare strategy compatible with its market position, China Southern is able to provide convenient, quality and safe services to customers. China Southern has also been actively blending into Australian culture by building partnerships with the Melbourne Festival and Melbourne Demons club. During the 15 years of China Southern's operation in Melbourne, the weekly fl ight schedule has been frequented from twice weekly to the current 18 direct fl ights to Guangzhou. China Southern really stands out in terms of promoting a Sino-Australian cultural exchange.

Q2： What are the changes in passenger demographics departing Melbourne?

Zhang:The number of local Australian passengers fl ying to China has gradually increased. The city of Guangzhou is becoming known by more and more western people. In fact, over 25 percent of passengers departing Melbourne to Guangzhou are westerners. In 2016, China Southern will continue its efforts in increasing market exposure, which includes further investment in outdoor advertisement, continuous cooperation with mainstream activities such as the Melbourne Festival and MelbourneDemons club, and sponsorship in traditional Chinese New Year celebration activities.

Q3：Any tips for Chinese travellers visiting Melbourne regarding air travel or immigration?

Zhang:Travellers should be advised to strictly follow immigration requirements to make declaration of any animal or plant products, including food, in advance.

Q4： Are there any other ways of transportation from Melbourne to other Australian cities?

Zhang:Travellers can choose Qantas Airways, China Southern's code-share carrier to fly to other destinations. Tickets are available at China Southern's booking offi ce or ticket agents. Besides Qantas Airways (QF), Virgin Australia (VA) and Jetstar (JQ) also provide code-share services for transfer flights from Melbourne to Tasmania.
