1. limit vt. 限制

We must limit our spending.

我們必須限制我們的開支。

They have made a decision to limit imports of foreign cars.

2. provide vt. 提供；供應

（1） provide sb with sth 提供給某人某物

These letters should provide us with all the information we need.

這些信函應該提供給我們所需要的全部訊息。

The firm provided me with a car.

（2） provide sth for sb 為某人提供某物

The hotel provides a shoe-cleaning service for its tourists.

provide against 防備，預防；禁止

比較：provide和supply的區別

前者表示提供（物品或信息），后者表示提供（物品）。

supply的搭配有：supply sb with sth， supply sth to sb。

比較：be connected to和be connected with的區別

be connected to是“與……相連”的意思，是指將兩個東西進行對接或連接；而be connected with是“與……有關”的意思，指兩個人或事物之間有關聯或聯系，一般不用于兩個事物的具體連接。前者的對象是從屬關系，后者強調平等關系。

He was connected with the crime.

The patient was connected to the monitor.

16. even though 即使；盡管；縱然

此短語用來引導讓步狀語從句，不使用將來時。如要表示將來，通常用現在時代替。

Even though I didnt know anybody at the party， I had a good time.

Even though it rains， I will go.

17. be worth doing 值得做……

I think his suggestion is well worth considering.

worth adj. 后跟名詞表示“值得”

be worth sth（指行動）值得；有價值；值得（花費大）

The museum is certainly worth a visit.

The new house really wasnt worth all the expense involved.

worth n. 價值……的東西；價值；意義；作用

The winner will receive ten pounds worth of books.
