Beauty

【Abstract】： It is widely accepted that almost without exception everyone， men and women， old and young， wishes to be beautiful. However， some people， not too many though， might look physically beautiful but are mentally ugly. The internal beauty or external beauty， which kind of beauty is more important？ He definition and judgment of beauty varies from person to person， and is there any universally accepted criterion for judging beauty？

It is human nature that all of us should be fond of beauty. Everybody was born with a heart for beauty. Beauty usually refers to what appeals to the eye.

Today in China， with the rising of our living standard， people's requirement of beauty has been heightened accordingly. Some people spare much money and energy on beautiful clothes， fashionable hair styles， the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks.

Is this the real beauty？ If not， What is it？

John Keats， as a leading romantic poet in England in 18th century， he believed in the life of the imagination and the validity of the moments of beauty occasionally perceived， and he had a motto： Beauty is truth， truth beauty. That is all you know in life， and all you need to know。

So I have been thinking the meaning of this motto since I read it， here， truth means what？ Beauty doesn't need any kind of ornaments. The appearance is given by our parents and is unique in the world. Everyone should value it. I would rather nature as the standard of beauty. Just accept yourself，accept the gift the god gives to you，and create the beautiful life belonging to you. Therefore， in my opinion， truth is a reflection of our inner minds. Nowadays， why so many people prefer to go outside to enjoy the natural life？ Because the nature is a pure integrated unit without any worldly and showy decoration， it is definitely the real beauty.

In the interpersonal communication， we’re unable to judge+ whether the person we are talking with is really beautiful or not， because we can’t figure out what his mind looks like. We often choose to know more about his characters and nature through the process of conversations or social activities， where words and behaviors can directly reflect his inner thoughts. Therefore， to the great extent， the real beauty can not be recognized from one’s 1 appearance， on the contrary， it is required from one’s reverent meditation， perseverant pursuit to dreams， decent behaviors ， right-hearted nature and pure soul ， and all the above qualities form our inner minds which really matters.

There is a shortest player in the NBA history called Tyrone Moggsy Bogues，he was just 160 centimeters. When he was studying in the middle school， he ever said to his friends：“Hey，guys， I will go to NBA League to play basketball when I grow up！” The same response is everyone’s laughing， and they poked fun at him：“you just look like a small squirrel，can you enter the NBA？”However， time proved everything. He not only successfully entered the NBA league， but also helped America win the FIBA world championship in 1986. It is persistent and hard-working qualities in his mind that helped him achieve these honorable achievements.

Can height decide everything？ The answer is no. one’s real beauty in his mind can make up for it， it’s the truth.

Beauty is which can bring you wonderful feelings. I declare definitely ，it is the beauty lying in one's heart of hearts and embodied in his actions and deeds， that is， the inner beauty！ What is the true beauty. Although the outward beauty really matters， the inner beauty is much more important. This was confirmed by a famous Russian writer in words much like this： \"A person is not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely.”
