Automechanika Shanghai,the largest expo in Asia forauto parts, maintenance, de-tection diagnostic equip-ment and service supplies and co-organized by Trade Development andCooperation Center of the CCPIT,was held in Shanghai New Interna-tional Expo Center during December9-12, 2014. The Expo attracted a his-torical high of exhibitors.
The Expo attracted 4,906 enter-prises from 39 countries and regions,up 6% year-on-year. Among the ex-hibitors, five countries-Belarus, Peru,Portugal, Switzerland and Jordan madetheir first debut at the Expo and theother 34 countries participated in theExpo for the second time. Statisticsshows that at the Expo the number ofoverseas exhibitors reached 581, up 11%year-on-year; and that of domestic ex-hibitors 4,325, up 5% year-on-year.
17 0ut of the 39 exhibition coun-tries and regions participated in theExpo via international delegations,among which Argentina and Pakistanexhibition delegations made their firstdebut. Poland, Germany, France, Ko-rea, Malaysia, the USA, Japan, Thai_land, Turkey, Spain, Singapore, Italy,India, the UK and Taiwan of Chinaonce again attended the Expo to dis-play the latest products and technicalinnovations oftheir local auto sectors.
Automechanika Shanghai reached the largest scale in2014
In 2014, 17 indoor standard exhi-bition halls and 10 0utdoor temporaryexhibition halls of Shanghai NewInternational Expo Center were usedfor Automechanika Shanghai. Thetotal exhibition area saw a 5% growtht0 220,000 sq m, reaching a historicalhigh in the Expo history.
Statistics shows that comparingwith 2013, the scale of all the threemajor product modules registered agrowth to fully cover the entire in-dustrial chain.
The newlylaunched \"auto applianc-es brand hall\" at 2014's Expo showcasedmany top brands in the appliance do-main and brought a growth of 10.4% tothe appliance and modification module,which topped the three product mod-ules; the success of the expo in the pastyears attracted lots of returned exhibitorswith larger scales, driving the growthof the maintenance and repair moduleto some extend and reaping a growth of7.3%, only next to that of the applianceand modification module; the auto partsmodule focused more on brand, productservices and balanced development torealize stable growth.
Talking about the historical highof exhibitor number and exhibitionarea, Cao Jiansheng, senior generalmanager of Messe Frankfurt (HongKong) Co., Ltd., said: \"I'm so glad tosee Automechanika Shanghai is ex-panding year by year. In 2014, both theexhibitor number and exhibition areahit a record high. Statistics directly sig-nals that Automechanika Shanghai hasgrown into an increasingly importantservice platform in the Chinese andeven the global auto sector.\"
The Expo hosted over 86,000audience at home and abroad and thevisiting groups from various countriesand regions is the major driving forceof the steadily expanding audiencegroup. Audience groups from Nepaland Vietnam participated in the Expofor the first time. Australia, Poland,Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Japan,Turkey, Greece, Iran, India, Indonesiaand Hong Kong once again organizedbuyer groups. Besides, nearly 50 do-mestic visiting groups from South,North and West China (such as He-bei, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Tianjinand Guangdong) actively signed up tothe Expo.
\"The expanding supporting orga-nizations also proves that the Expo hashuge impact in the sector. Relevantassociations and organizations fromHebei, Jiangsu and Turkey greatlysupport us in terms of the emergingmarkets and product expansion, whichdrives the growth of the exhibitor orprofessional audience number,\" Mr.Cao added.
Automechanika Shanghai notonly attracts more and more sup-porting organizations, but also manynew brands, for instance, EXEDY,Liuzhou Wuling, Mesch, QingteGroup, Tenneco, China South Lo-comotive and Sinomach to the autoparts module; Haitian and JTC to themaintenance and repair module; andBMC, Brand-Rex, Huadian PowerfulAutomobile Accessories and Knorvayto the appliance and modificationmodule.

Many popular activities in the pastyears were also held at this Expo and 38activities in total enabled participants tothoroughly discuss the auto sector andimpress the exhibitors and audience.The activities in varieties covered all themodules ofthe auto sector.
