lack

n. 缺乏；短缺的東西

1. n. 缺乏（某物）。后常接介詞of

I havent finished the painting for lack of time.

2. v. 缺乏，通常接抽象名詞，但不可以再接of：

I lack words with which to express my thanks.

我找不到話來表達我的感謝。

He is good at his job but he seems to lack confidence.

They lacked （for） nothing but money.

他們什么都不缺，就是缺錢。

3. 短語：be lacking in，“缺乏”，其中lacking是形容詞：“缺少的，不足的”，但不可以用在名詞前做修飾語。
