2014： The First Year Of Genesis For The Internet

On September 14， 1987， An email entitled "Cross the Great Wall， go to the world" was sent to Germany from Chinas first Internet Email node——the “Chinese Academic Network” which was located in Beijing Computer Applied Technology Institute. On April 20， 1994， the first special line of 64K connected with the internet in China was opened， realizing the fully functional connection with the internet. Since then China really became the country who has the fully functional Internet， and the day was landmark in the developing history of Chinas Internet. The year 2014 is the 20th year for China to fully connect with the international Internet. Since the national backbone network CHINANET was built up and began to offer service in January， 1996， Chinese Internet has entered the period of rapid growth. In November， 1997， CNNIC firstly issued “ the Statistic Report of the Internet Development in China”， at that time， there were totally 299 thousand computers connected with the internet in China， and there were 620 thousand people who surfed the internet. The amount of domain names registered in CN reached 4066， and the amount of www site was about 1500. However， the report from CNNIC in 2013 showed that there were already more than 6 hundred million netizens in China， 80% of which surf the internet with mobile phones. The report also showed that there were 1844 domain names overall in China， and nearly 4000 thousand websites， the developing result of Chinas internet is striking.

In the past 20 years， the access ways of internet in China has been more convenient and various， the network terminal products could get the information more timely， unblocked and abundantly， all the technical progresses speeded up the popularization of the internet. The internets develop priority has changed from the technical means to the mode of transmission. The internet technology and the social culture has influenced on each other， and the internet technology becomes strategic infrastructure to promote the social progress of China. The increase of netizens makes the society more plentiful and polybasic. Peoples relations and ways of cooperation in life， job and amusement are all changing， which continuously speeds up the whole societys acceptance of the internet.

The internet is deeply affecting and changing the contemporary China. Nowadays， China has been a “Network Power” in reality， but the development bottleneck of internet still highlights. For instance， the capability of independent innovation is still weak， theres obvious differences among areas ，as well as between urban and rural， the per capita broadband use in China still has big differences from the international advanced level， the situation of network security is severe， the tasks of driving industrialization， urbanization and the modernization of our governance capacity by informatization is far away from being realized. In February， 27， 2014， the Central Leading Group on the Network Security and Information was declared to be set up. Xi Jinping holds the post of the group leader， he said in the founding conference ：“ Without the network security， there will be no national security； and without the informatization， there will be no modernization.” What he said showed Chinas will of developing the internet， promoting the informatization and guaranteeing the network security， as well as Chinas determination of reinforcing the top-level designing.

2014 is the 20th year for China to entirely join in the world internet， as well the starting year of the Central Leading Group on the Network Security and Information. Its also the first year for China， who has 6 hundred million netizens becoming a network power. Undoubtedly， this time node will be remembered in history.
