【Abstract】This paper defines the concept by first concept and development process of ceramics will be described， and clearly the type of modern home furnishings ceramics. Through practice research，ceramics used in modern home space to be summarized，so that people have a better room decorated for artistic views.

First， the origin of ceramics

（A），the concept of ceramics

Pottery is clay for the child ， after pinching ， the wheel system， molding molding ， etc. ， at 800～1000 ℃ under the roasting temperature artifacts， opaque body as a whole ， there are porous， with water absorption， knock the sound is unclear . Pottery can be divided into two kinds of fine pottery and stoneware ， white and colored ， unglazed and glazed pottery . The main varieties are gray pottery ， terracotta ， white pottery ， painted pottery and black pottery ， etc.， which have a strong art .
