happen to sb/sth表示“某人或某物發生了某事或出現了某種情況”，一般是不幸的事；

happen to do sth表示“碰巧發生某事”；

It happens that...，表示“正巧，恰好……”，此句型可換為“happen + 不定式”的結構。

If anything happens to him， let me know at once.

如果他出了什么事，請立刻通知我。

She happened to meet a girl in a red hat.

她剛好遇到了一位戴紅帽子的姑娘。

7.expect v. 預料；期待

基本語法

動詞不定式作賓語

動詞不定式是非謂語動詞的形式之一，其結構為“to +動詞原形”，其中to是動詞不定式的符號。動詞不定式和其他詞搭配構成動詞不定式短語，在句子中可作主語、賓語、定語、表語、狀語、補足語等。以下是動詞不定式作賓語的幾種情況。

●后跟to do作賓語的常見動詞（短語）有：want，hope，wish，expect，decide，agree，choose，need，plan，would like，fail等。

This time， he decided to do something different.

這一次，他想做點不一樣的事。

After PE class， we need to drink some water.

體育課后，我們需要喝點水。

●有的動詞后跟不定式與后跟動名詞意義區別不大，如：like，live，start，begin。

When we light the candles， all the people begin/start to sing the birthday song.

= When we light the candles， all the people begin/start singing the birthday song.

當我們點燃蠟燭時，所有人便開始唱生日歌。

●know，ask，show，teach，think，guess，find out，understand等動詞（短語）后可以用“疑問詞 + to do”的結構。

I don’t know how to cook. Can you help me？

我不知道怎么做飯。你可以幫我嗎？

●部分動詞如find，feel，think后面接形式賓語， 常用于次結構“find/feel/think + it + adj. + to do sth”，其中it作形式賓語，動詞不定式為真賓語。

I find it easy to learn a second language.

我覺得學一門第二語言很容易。

基本含義

●可以用以表示某人有意圖、打算做某事。

We are going to have a class meeting this afternoon.

我們計劃下午召開班會。

The railway is going to be open on October 1.

這條鐵路將于十月一日通車。

●表示有跡象要發生某事。

Look at the black clouds. It’s going to rain.

看那些烏云，要下雨了。

be going to 的句式

●肯定句

be going to結構中的助動詞be的現在式一般有三種形式，即：am，is，are。當主語是第一人稱單數時用am；當主語是第三人稱單數時用is；當主語是其他人稱時用are。

I am going to buy something tomorrow morning.

明天早上我要去買些東西。

She is going to see Mr Wang this afternoon.

她打算今天下午去看望王先生。

●否定句

在be （am/is/are）的后面加上not。

They are going to see the car factory next week. （肯定句）

他們打算下周去參觀汽車廠。

They are not going to see the car factory next week. （否定句）

他們不打算下周去參觀汽車廠。

●一般疑問句

把be （am/is/are）放到句首，在句末加問號，構成一般疑問句，肯定回答：Yes， 主語 + am/is/are，否定回答：No， I’m not/主語 + isn’t/aren’t. 不過I am...在改為一般疑問句時常常改為Are you...？。

— Are they going to see the car factory next week？

— Yes， they are./No， they aren’t.

— 他們打算下周去參觀汽車廠嗎？

— 是的，他們打算去。/不，他們不打算去。

●特殊疑問句

特殊疑問詞 + be （am/is/are） + 主語 + going to + 動詞原形 + ……？

What are you going to do this afternoon？

今天下午你要做什么？

Where are they going to having dinner？

他們要去哪里吃飯？

使用be going to應注意的兩點

1. There be句型的be going to結構為：There is/are going to be...常用來表示將有某事發生（注意句型中going to后面的be不能改為have）。

There is going to be a football match in our school next Saturday.

下周六我們學校將有一場足球比賽。

2. come，go，leave，arrive等表示位置移動的動詞常用現在進行時表示將要發生的動作，它們很少與be going to結構連用。

Miss Sun is coming tonight.

今晚孫小姐要來。
