If I were 1)Czar of the world, a phrase I seem to use quite often these days, I would create open water lap swim areas at all the beaches of the world, allowing 2)patrons to get away from the sand, kids and cell-phone users, which 3)clutter their otherwise 4)fabulous day at the beach. This would involve building a shark-resistant ,5)jellyfish-6)repelling lap lane of anywhere from a quarter to a mile in length, depending, of course, on the 7)logistics of the beach, and about 20 feet wide. Patrons would enter at either gate, at either end of the lane, and swim in 8)languorous circles with other swimmers, much like at their local public pool, only much, much larger and 9)infinitely more 10)pleasurable. In addition to the fitness factor, these would-be Diana Nyad and Michael Phelps would relieve 11)untold tons of stress, anxiety, and lets just say it, road-rage tendencies, allowing them to return to said sand, kids and cell phones with an entirely 12)new lease on life.
