愛與時間

Once upon a time， there was an island where all the feelings lived： Happiness， Sadness， Knowledge， and all of the others， including Love.

One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink， so all constructed[建構] boats and left. Except Love. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk， Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said， “Richness， can you take me with you？” Richness answered， “No， I cant. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.” Love decided to ask Vanity[虛榮] who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel[船]. “Vanity， please help me！” “I cant help you， Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat，” Vanity answered. Sadness was close by， so Love asked， “Sadness， let me go with you” “Oh… Love， I am so sad that I need to be by myself！” Happiness passed by Love， too. But she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her. Suddenly， there was a voice， “Come， Love， I will take you.” It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed， Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land， the elder went his own way. Realizing how much she was owed to the elder， Love asked Knowledge， another elder， “Who helped me？” “It was Time，” Knowledge answered. “Time？” asked Love. “But why did Time help me？” Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered， “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”

從前，在一個島上，住著所有的情感：幸福、悲傷、知識和所有其他的感情，包括愛。

一天，有人通知那些情感，小島即將沉沒，于是除了愛以外的所有情感都造船離島了。愛是唯一一個留下的。愛想要堅持到最后一刻。

小島就要沉沒的時候，愛決定尋求幫助。財富乘著一艘華麗的船從愛的身邊經過。愛說：“財富，你能帶上我嗎？”財富回答說：“不，不行，我的船上載滿金銀財寶，你來了沒有地方待。”虛榮坐在漂亮的小船中從愛的身邊駛過，愛決定去求一求虛榮。“虛榮，請幫幫我！” “我愛莫能助。愛，你渾身濕透，會弄臟我的船。”虛榮回答。悲哀就在旁邊，于是愛問道：“悲哀，請帶我走吧。”“哦……愛，我太難過了，我需要獨自待會兒！”幸福也經過愛的身邊，但她太開心了，根本沒聽見愛在呼喚。突然，有一個聲音說道：“來，愛，我帶你走。” 聲音來自一位長者。愛太高興了，太喜出望外了，甚至忘了問他們即將去哪兒。到達陸地后，長者繼續趕路了。愛非常感激他，她覺著自己欠長者一個人情，便問知識——另一位老者： “幫我的那個人是誰呀？”“是時間。”知識回答。“時間？”愛問道，“但是，時間為什么幫助我呢？”深邃而睿智的知識微笑著回答：“因為只有時間才能夠理解愛有多么寶貴。”
