In social criticism aspect,“A Simple Noodle Story” learned lessons of the banned “To Live” and “Old Well”,turned to invisible writing,Xiaoshenyang's popular entertainment effect and Sun Honglei’s theme cultural identity escorted successful pass of institutional review for the film.“A Simple Noodle Story” discusses current events by history,advancing secretly by an unknown path,provides construction way for the screen reproduction of real world power relationship,completed meaning abstract and discourse amplification through easy leisure,beloved history comedy.Such as the bed comedic debate between Zhao Liu and Chen Qi,“Chen Qi,please note,your money on the table…… Zhao six,please note,I think your analogy is still not appropriate……”In order to recover the wages from Mazi,Zhao Liu seeks for deeper meaning excuse for theft,Chen Qi consists on adhering to the established social order,not steal or rob,honest,while two points of view fiercely collided,ultimately incompatible,ended with no result.Zhao Liu’s situation is like the worker image described by classical Marxism,capitalists using various forms and reasons to extract surplus value of laboring class.

In post-modern context,this alternative behavior of extracting surplus value of laboring class achieved legalization and institutionalization,through high prices,high taxes,cut interest rates,inflation and other means to reduce the actual purchasing power of grassroots savings(money).Facing to legal sanction and system deterrence,grassroots will take the path of economic and social speculation for assets value preservation,providing subterfuge for various acts of existing economic and social order subversion.Zhao Liu can’t resign,at the risk of theft,desperate,anxious to reclaim the excess which legitimately reduced real purchasing power of grassroots pay in the name of the state and based on the hidden rules.Chen Qi is the order advocates,or is product of the order enlightenment,lost of reflecting consciousness and fighting ability.Sweep aside the camouflage,conscious audience with ideas can glimpse the projection from existing social order,see the light,comfort the dream in the film (film function of social safety valve),achieve release of psychological stress and social emotion,is socalled number of things past,just sayings and jokes.“A Simple Noodle Story”has numerous post-modern social narratives,is repeatedly observed,very comedic,audience interest added,fabricated,unity of form and spirit,very significant.Zhang Yimou always insisted on running,hysterically cried for the social equity and justice,just conversed expressive form in response to new situation and new environment,from direct,realistic to stealth,metaphor,is the so-called things are changing,the heart unchanged.

In addition, “A Simple Noodle Story” learned grotesque comedy style from Stephen Chow,succeeded a new entertainment spirit of meaningful vulgar,same as the social reflection function of Zhao Benshan’s rural opusculum series (“not need money” and “just need money”,etc.),the choice of actor is not the blind pursuit of fame and titles,but cooperation with powerful artists like Zhao Benshan,Sun Honglei,Yan Ni and so on,the post-modern trap contained in“A Simple Noodle Story” was show on screen.Such as “Brother Li Si,you know foreign language,you have ability,” and “Will landlady come over to look,” “He understands foreign language,has ability,very mysterious”,“Do not ruin young,you are at beginning of autumn” and so on,uses the most popular,most concise,most ridicule buzzwords,expresses the most basic,most central,most forefront cultural phenomenon and social criticism. “A Simple Noodle Story” broadens the development way of Chinese film genres at the same time,seeks market opportunities for small production films.Chinese film advocating real life,history and the main theme subjects,such as science fiction,fantasy,animation,disaster,action (Hollywood films),suspense,sports and other types become optional marginalized subjects, “Blood Simple” “Sherlock Holmes” and other suspense type of film are also among them.Suspense film type is small production,gives priority to complex plot design and rigorous logical reasoning,in consideration of multiple sets of character design and narrative clues,often requires more sophisticated film narrative techniques.Successful market cases of Chinese suspense film type is very few,such as the new director Ning Hao's “Crazy Stone” and “Crazy Racer”, “medium and small budget films are Chinese film industrialization success,as it is impossible to expect large investments in blockbusters year after year.”There are still many points worthy of note in “A Simple Noodle Story”,please refer to relevant critics,there is no repeat here.
