Have you ever heard of the story “ Tears of Love”? Do you know

where it happened?

For the first time I heard this story， I had strong desire to visit it， and learnt how the tears of love came out?

From the young I had many many dreams， one of my dreams was to see the world well-known places which I known; when I got to know the place “Tears of Love” situated in India--the far distance from China， I never thought that I could have the opertunity to view it with my eyes some day， it really became my dream .

But things went on as I expected， when I first standing on Indian land， I went to the city of Agra which is 200 km away from New Dehli where the famous Tajmahal was there; We drove about 4 hours there by taxi due to the long distance and terrible traffice on road. There I realized my dream and saw the marvelous and fantastic archetecture which called the 8th wonder in the world， and my dream became true in the year 2006; I took a good view to see the famous place and got to know the story of Tajmahal which people talked as “tears of love”

Acturally， Tajmahal is an only Tomb of a queen who named Mumtaz Mahal， the tomb is the representation of the house of the queen in Paradise. Though I glanced it many times through internet before I been there， it really shocked me when I first caught sight of it.

Tajmahal rests on a white platform， Four thin white towers rising from the corners of the platform. A large dome rising from the center of the constrcture. Around this large dome there are four smaller domes on each corner of the large one.

The constructure made of fine white marble with inlays of colored marble， carving Islamic language and flower drawing， combining elements of Persian， Central Asian， and Islamic architecture. It has eight sides and many open arches archetecture. There is an open corridor just inside the outer walls. From this corridor people view carved marble screens to a central room. The bodies of Shah Jehan(the Emperor) and his wife(the quee) lying in it.

Till now I still cant find good language to express my surprice to describe it. I remembered I read an article in the internet to describe Tajmahal like this:

when one visits it without being in a hurry. The rectangular base of Tajmahal is in itself symbolic of the different sides from which to view a beautiful woman. The main gate is like a veil to a woman''s face which should be lifted delicately， gently and without haste on the wedding night. In indian tradition the veil is lifted gently to reveal the beauty of the bride. As one stands inside the main gate of Tajmahal， his eyes are directed to an arch which frames the Tajmahal.

The colours change at different hours of the day and during different seasons. Like a jewel， the Taj sparkles in moonlight when the semi-precious stones inlaid into the white marble on the main mausoleum catch the glow of the moon. The Tajmahl is pinkish in the morning， milky white in the evening and golden when the moon shines. These changes， they say， depict the different moods of woman.

The Tajmahl was built by The Emperor Shah Jahan (the queen’s husband， died 1666 C.E.) in the memory of his dear wife， it was told the queen named Mumtaz Mahal， a Muslim Persian princess was very much beautiul， her husband was just a prince when she married him， they living happily in peaceful days. The prince became an emperor after some years， Mumtaz Mahal became an queen as well， but situation not good for their lives， they experienced so many hard days due to some rebellions happened here and there， she used to accompany her husband in his military campaigns， They had 14 chidren during her 18 years of marriage; Unfortunately the productive queen died while accompanying her husband in Behrampur(a place name) in a campaign to crush a rebellion in her 14th childbirth at the age of 36. Her sudden death so crushed the emperor that all his hair and beard were said to have grown snow white in a few months.

When Mumtaz Mahal was still alive， she extracted four promises from the emperor: One of her wishes to her husband was \"to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before”.she wihsed his husband would come to visit the tomb on her death anniversary. So great was the Emperor love to his wife he kept his promises to build the tombs for his beloved wife. Construction began in 1631 and was completed in 22 years. Twenty thousand people were envoled in working on it.

Having started the construction of Tajmahal， the emperor planed to to have another TajMahal in black marble intended to be his own tomb， it situated on the other side of the river facing his wife white marble tomb and there to connect the two by a bridge. When the sad emperor became elder and elder his own son interrupted， and broke the war with him， taking the emperor place of the father， thus his own tomb plan would not be disposed to complete it. Shah Jahan (The Emperor) was deposed by his son and imprisoned in the Great Red Fort for eight years. During his hard days in prison， his eyes became poorer and poorer， he viewed his wife’s tomb through window first， in his final days in prison， what he could have was just a little view of Tajmahal in a reflection of a diamond， tears rolling down. He was dead in sorrow after 8 years since his son took the emperor instead of him. His son later buried him in the same Tajmahal with his beautiful queen.

That is the story “Tears of Love”.
