煤氣爆炸之謎

1.Detective Brown was reading a book at home at 9：00 in the evening.Suddenly the lights went out.晚上九點，布朗探長正在家里看書，忽然停電了。

2.Five minutes later,there was a loud noise，which shattered all the windows.五分鐘之后，一聲巨響把窗子的玻璃都震碎了。

3.A house nearby exploded and burned.Mr.Brown ran to the house at once.原來是附近的一所房子爆炸著火了。布朗探長連忙向現場跑去。

4.An old woman lived in the house.She said to Detective Brown sadly：“Fortunately,I was shopping then,otherwise...”There was a smell of gas on the scene.Detective said：“The explosion should be caused by the gas leakage.” “Really?My nose is not very keen,and I can’t smell the gas,”said the old woman.房子里住著一位老婦人。她傷心地對布朗探長說：“幸好我當時在買東西，要不然……”現場可以聞到一股煤氣的味道。探長說：“應該是您家里的煤氣泄露引起的爆炸。”“真的嗎？我的鼻子已經不靈了，我根本聞不到煤氣的味道。”老婦人說。

5.At this time,one police said：“The fire started from the bedroom.”就在這時，一個警察說道：“火是從老婦人的臥室燒起來的。”

6.The woman said：“But in my bedroom,there was just a bed,a phone and a wood box.”“我的臥室里只有一張床、一個電話和一個木箱。”老婦人說。

7.Police said：“It’s very strange.When the explosion happened,the power was off.So it couldn’t be caused by creepage.” “It seemed that it was a designed murder and arson incident,” said Mr.Brown.警察說：“很奇怪。 發生爆炸時，這一帶正停電，不可能是因為漏電引起煤氣爆炸發生火災的。“看來這很可能是一樁有計劃的蓄意縱火謀殺案。”布朗探長說。

8.By the inquiry,the police found out that the old woman’s nephew Roy was the suspect.The old woman had a lot of jewel and stock.She saved them in the bank and was insured.The beneficiary was Roy.經過調查，警方認為老婦人的侄兒羅伊是犯罪嫌疑人。老婦人有許多寶石和股票都寄存在銀行，并且投了保險，受益人就是羅伊。

9.But Roy was not on the scene when the explosion happened.There was proof proving that he was in the hotel 10km away from here.The Detective asked：“Did he go to the woman’s house that night?” “Yes.He finished his supper and left at half past eight o’clock.” 但是事發當時，羅伊不在案發現場，而且有證據表明他當時在離案發現場10公里以外的旅館里。探長說：“那天晚上，他去了老婦人的家嗎？”“是的。他吃完晚飯后，于八點半離開了。”

10.Detective Brown analyzed all the proof and thought about it.Then he said：“It was made by Roy.”布朗探長分析了所有的證據，思慮良久說：“這起案件就是羅伊策劃的。”

布朗探長為什么說這起事件是羅伊策劃的呢？他的證據是什么？
