On Nov. 6, 2012, tens of thousands of American people went to the polls to choose their new president. In the election campaign earlier, people had found the presidential candidates Obama and Romney using social Web more frequently. They post funny little animations, shared song playlists and post their moments at home with the children on the social Web.
In 2012, it is not enough for candidates to shake hands, kiss a baby and run some TV ads to win the US presidential election. Each campaign is using social media as another means to reach voters, particularly younger ones, who may not watch television or read the paper but spend plenty of time on the social Web.
—The New York Times reported.
It’s about authentic, two-way communication. Social media is a natural extension of our huge grass-roots organization.
—Said Adam Fetcher, one of Obama’s supporters.
