Nowadays, the surface modificationof textile fibres is considered as the bestroute to obtain modern textile treatments. It enables the required level of beneficialeffect by the modification of fibre surfaceonly, thus minimizing whole fibre attack, and hence the deterioration in fibre qualitycould be easily avoided. Among variousavailable biopolymers modification products, the polysaccharide chitosan is highlyrecommendable, since it shows uniquechemical and biological properties and itssolubility in acidic solutions makes it easilyavailable for industrial purposes [1-5].Theamino group of the glucosamine unit ofchitosan exhibits cationic character in acidicenvironments and this property is useful inthe dyeing of protein fibers such as wooland silk in acidic media.
