幾組常考易混介詞辨析

1. among，between

二者均表示“在……中間”或“在……之間”。among指在三者或三者以上之間，而between表示在二者之間。有時between之后也可能出現三個或三個以上的賓語，但這時所強調的仍然是其中每兩者之間的相互關系或指地理上的位置關系。此外，當句中出現divide， share之類的詞時，如果后面跟著幾個單數名詞，則用between;如果后面是復數名詞，between和among都可以。如:

This secret is only between you and me.

這個秘密僅限于你和我之間。

The teacher is sitting among the students.

老師坐在學生們的中間。

Hunan lies between Hubei， Sichuan， Guangxi， Guangdong and Jiangxi.

湖南位于湖北、四川、廣西、廣東和江西之間。

He divided his money between John， Helen and his nephew.

他把他的錢平分給了約翰、海倫和他的侄子。

2. in，to，on表方位

in表示在某范圍之內;to表示在某范圍之外的地方;on表示兩地接壤。如:

Xinjiang lies in the west of China.

新疆位于中國的西部。

Japan lies to the east of China.

日本位于中國的東部。

Hunan lies on the south of Hubei.

湖南位于湖北的南部。

3. above，over，on

這三個詞都有“在……之上”的意思，其區別如下:

above:“在……之上”;“高于……”(表示相對高度，不一定在正上方)，其反義詞是below;over:“在……之上”(表示垂直之上)，其反義詞是under;on:“在……之上”(表示與表面接觸)。 如:

He put a book on the table.

他把一本書放在桌子上。

There is a stone bridge over the river.

河上有一座石橋。

A bird is flying above the woods.

一只鳥在森林上面飛。

4. at，in，on表時間

(1)at可用于表示時間的一點、時刻等，如:at 8:00， at noon， at night， at dawn， at midnight;也可指較短暫的一段時間，可指某個節日或被認為是一年中標志大事的日子，如:at the Spring Festival，at Children’s Day;

(2)in表示在某個較長的時間內(如:世紀、朝代、年代、月及泛指早上、下午或傍晚等)或在一段時間之后。如:in the 1990s，in Ming Dynasty，in March， in the evening，in two days。

(3)on用于表示具體的日子或特定的時間，如:某日，某日的早上、下午或晚上，某節日，星期幾等。如:on August 8，2008，on the morning of May 4，on New Year’s Day，on Sunday。

5. besides，except，but，except for，except that/when的區別

(1)besides表示“除了……之外， 還有”，與apart from同義。如:

All the compositions are good besides Tom’s.

除了湯姆的作文好以外，(其他)所有的作文也都好。

注意:besides用于否定句中時，與except，but同義。如:

We have no other books besides(except，but) these.

除了這些書以外，我們沒有其他的書了。

(2)except表示“只有……除外”，與but同義;但but多與否定詞no one，none，nobody，nothing以及who，all，everyone等連用。如:

All the compositions are good except Tom’s.

除了湯姆的作文不好以外，(其他)所有的作文都好。

Who would do such a thing but Jack?

除了杰克會做這樣的事情以外，還有誰會做呢?

(3)except for“除去……之外”，常表示肯定整體，除去局部的不足。要注意與except的區別:前后是相稱的同類語時，只能用except，反之則用except for。如:

All the compositions are good except Tom’s.

除了湯姆的作文不好以外，(其他)所有的作文都好。(作文與作文對比)

Tom’s composition is good except for some spelling mistakes.

除了有些拼寫錯誤以外，湯姆的作文很好。(作文與拼寫錯誤對比)

(4)except that/when是連接詞，后接從句。如:

He does morning exercises every day except when it is raining.

除了下雨以外，他每天都做早操。

This suit fits me well except that the trousers are a bit long.

這套服裝很合身，只是褲子長了點。
