簡介

誰的童年沒有夢想?當年事日高，歲月蹉跎，那個純潔的夢是否還在你心中蠢蠢欲動呢?以下這個小故事，或許會帶給你久違的心靈觸動。

童年的卡爾和埃莉因為彼此的探險夢想而認識，并結為伉儷。兩人帶著夢想度過一年又一年，直到埃莉去世。面臨被迫搬遷的卡爾毅然決定用氫氣球載上房子實現妻子的心愿。但是，他也載上了一個不速客——希望幫助老人，拿到一枚徽章而成為高級探險員的小胖男孩羅素。

于是，脾氣古怪的老人與活潑好動的男孩便開始了一段南美歷險。在那里，他們遇到了新奇的大鳥(凱文)，會說話的小狗(達格)，還有利欲熏心要抓住大鳥的探險家查爾斯。在和查爾斯斗智斗勇期間，羅素和卡爾經歷了不少的分歧和掙扎，但也學會了關心別人，珍惜美好的生活。最后，羅素成功拿到徽章，而卡爾也走向人生的新歷程。

Ellie: Hey， kid! I thought you might need a little cheering up. I got something to show you! I am about to let you see something I have never shown to another human being. Ever...in my life! You will have to swear you will not tell anyone! Cross your heart! Do it!

My adventure book! You know him. Charles Muntz， explorer. When I get big， I’m going where he’s going. South America. It’s like America， but South. Wonder where I’m gonna live? Paradise Falls. A land lost in time. I ripped this right out of a library book! I’m gonna move my club house there! And park it right next to the falls. Who knows what lives up there! And once I get there， well， I’m saving all these pages for all the adventures I’m gonna have. Only...I just don’t know how I’m gonna get to Paradise Falls.

Carl: Wow!

(Russell tries to build a tent for Carl but fails.)

Russell: Aw， tents are hard.

Carl: Wait， aren’t you super wilderness guy with the 2)GPMs and the badge?

Russell: Yeah， but...can I tell you a secret?

Carl: No.

Russell: All right. Here it goes. I never actually built a tent before. There! I said it.

Carl: You’ve been camping before， haven’t you?

Russell: Well， never outside...

Carl: Well， why didn’t you ask your dad how to build a tent?

Russell: I don’t think he wants to talk about this stuff.

Carl: Why don’t you try him sometime? Maybe he’ll surprise you.

Russell: He’s away a lot， I don’t see him much.

Carl: He’s gotta be home sometime.

Russell: I call， but Phyllis told me I bug him too much.

Carl: Phyllis? You call your own mother by her first name?

Russell: Phyllis isn’t my mom.

Carl: Oh!

Russell: But he promised he’d come to my Explorers Ceremony to pin on my “Assisting the Elderly Badge. ” So he can show me how about the tents then， right?

Carl: Hey， why don’t you get some sleep? We don’t want to wake up the travelling 3)flea circus.

Russell: Mr. Fredricksen， Dug says he wants to take Kevin prisoner. We have to protect him. Can Kevin go with us?

Carl: All right， he can come.

Russell: Promise you won’t leave him?

Carl: Yeah.
